I've been frog fishing a long time and have used several reels spooled with my line of choice (50# sufix braid). I believe long casts with frogs give you a chance to cover more water (of course this isn't always the case but generally it is for me). When they came out I really liked the ardent 1000 ...

Popper, props still use 5 1/2' fiberglass fenwick with pistol grip - braided line - this is an amazing set up for accurate close range combat - for frogs and big walkers - 7' - 7 1/2' with braid but want some give in the system.

Albright knot locked for braid to fluoro - trilene knot tightened slowly and lubed - no problems - simple strong
on lighter test braid or nan o fil I do spider hitch or bimini twist to double the line to make things easier

I've had good success with them t-rigged with small brass bullet weight - swim over veg. and drop in holes - great in Fla.
