Re: TUTORIAL - Non-SV Spool convert to SV Spool

Yep I was trying to get an idea of shaft size difference, if its 1 mm then .5 mm per side does not seem undo able, esp with drill press. I do wonder also why the extra ramp is included, they are identical?

Re: TUTORIAL - Non-SV Spool convert to SV Spool

That's a cool mod, thanks for sharing it. The kit I am looking at has two white ramps and inductor, is there an extra ramp? Does there appear to be enough material to enlarge the holes to fit the older spools? Any chance you could snap a pic of an old style inductor beside the Ray's?

Re: JDM TD-S 103HL

The Bay these days has a saying "we have everything", that's false in this case. I did manage to find the one I sold in December, they maybe worth more to me, than others cause I felt like I gave that one away.

Re: JDM TD-S 103HL

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I knew folks here would know about them. Is there any guide available online like a JDM blue book? Some of these reels are new in the box, and I wouldn't mind selling, but I have no idea what they are worth.

Re: Fish both left and right handed baitcasters?

I reckon I can still use either, I made the switch before lefty's became common, and prefer left handle. Back in the early days Quantum had left handles (I still have some) with the flipping switch. The guy I use to fish with always weather flipping or casting kept his reels in flipping position, yo...

Re: JDM TD-S 103HL

I do recall that at the time I got these there was a Team Daiwa X factory tuned model in the US market, it had gold colored spool bearings while the non tuned had silver, the TD-S also has gold bearings. And according to my scale the spool weighs 15.5g with the bearing on it, which I believe is pret...

JDM TD-S 103HL

I have been out of fishing for a few years, and have recently been revisited by fishing fever. Just before I stopped I picked up a few jdm Team Daiwa S 103HL flipping reels. I think I got these in about 2003, and am sure they have long been discontinued. I have recently found that the TD-Z/Steez spo...

Re: Broken sv spool

I guess we are not to post links, but the ramps and the inductor are available as a kit on ebay dor around 13usd plus shipping. My question is can they be added to a non sv spool to reap the stress less benefits? No, you can not convert a non SV spool to SV. I thought no too, at least w/o drilling ...
