I even ...

(10) 2020 Shimano Metanium XG's
hmm...too frugal to spring for the Antares AR's..
The other answer would be that line capacity sucks on the Antares....
According to the Shimano Jp website, they both have 34mm x 19mm spools....maybe the Met USA version is different, but I doubt it.

Re: Newbie question (sorry in advance)

I'd definitely recommend running the same bearings on both sides of the spool. I would generally agree with this statement (and the others that you made), but I have been testing a theory recently which I think is accurate in the scenerio I'll describe. I utilize this out of convienince more than a...

Those handles make me happy! Quite the collection of them. Wish I could have gotten my hands on more of the 88x25 Backlash Editions. I really like that 25 size.

Re: Olympic Vigore

Is anyone able to comment on the action/power of these blanks compared to their American counterparts? Like I stated in a prior post I'm interested in the 7'6" MH but this would be my first JDM rod and I'm not exactly sure how I should be reading the specs/ratings. Thanks. These are just on the mar...

Re: Alphas CT bearings

Just got my Alphas CT and was going to put in a set of Hedgehog BFS bearings I felt we’re being wasted in my Alphas SV. When I took the bearings from the CT they seemed to be better quality than typical Daiwa stock bearings. So my question is would the Hedgehog BFS be an upgrade for the CT and woul...

Re: Antares A Casting Reel

...My only issue is in order to cast the antares smoothly it has to be on 4 brake blocks even with a trained thumb.... You must have recieved a janky Antares. I'm a Daiwa trained caster, the Antares is my first Shimano. I can cast with 2 blocks, in a variety of lure ranges, all day long, without is...
