Is there that much "junk" line making it to shelves?
Its always been amazing to me how line reviews can be so polarizing. Guess Im fortunate, but I just dont manage to find all these spools of line w/all these phantom break offs...(Using appropriate diameters that are in good condition of course). Ive had legit issues w/Vanish and Nanofil- which both ...

Re: Yo-Zuri Rattlin' Vibe Mini
Got a dozen last month, been wanting a smaller vibe for years. Havent been out w/em yet. I believe a larger model (3/4 oz?) may be either out or coming soon as well.

Re: Your favorite obscure reels
These are great guys! I recently picked a Pro Qualifier Tournament up...(basically the original Gold Carbonlite w/a couple differences)...Nice little lightweight, dual brake reel that palms good and behaves itself predictably. Was listed as a "BPS tourney special" which is a low end reel. Anyway thi...

Re: Your favorite obscure reels
Dual braking skeet Revo. A souped up generation 1 revo premier so all aluminum. Longer power handle but a few were made with dual braking before the generation 2 revos came out. Got mine for $70 bucks and it is still smooth as glass That's a good one...From what I recall kicking around that platfor...

Your favorite obscure reels
Wondering if anyone has any lesser known reels they like? I'm mainly referring to any reels that may not be well known for whatever reason...perhaps it was a rebadged reel made for a company or some other store brand; ie some of the cabelas 50th anniversary Daiwas Zillions or Pfluegers...Or somethin...

Re: Line Conditioner
Never compared it, I suppose theoretically less tension grabbing the guide train could impact feel or pullback from a lure or fish.
Whether it's enough to notice is a whole nother thought

Duel Carbonylon and Yozuri Hybrid, the same?
I've long wanted something between the 12 lb and extremely thick 15 lb versions of hybrid. 12lb hasn't let me down but I want to just a bit more diameter...Looking at the duel website the carbonylon seems to have similar construction with many of the same features, while also having the the exact di...

Re: Football Jig / Heavier Fluke rod
when discounted the Kistler HE3 7'3H fits the bill. At full retail the value of this rod is great. it is listed as xfast but I'd say the tip is near perfect for any type of plastic fishing. I fish frogs on it most often but use it for 7 inch Senko's quite often. That does look good! I've always bee...

Re: Football Jig / Heavier Fluke rod
If it's dubbed an Arachnid, it's probably a Cabela's branded version of some Tatula variant.
I understand where you're coming from based off the reels being diawa made, but these rods just dont put off much of a daiwa vibe (though I'm admittedly not well versed in Daiwas upper end ...

Football Jig / Heavier Fluke rod
I'm looking for a rod for casting jigs and keel weighted caffeine shads into sparse cover. Dont want a broomstick, ideally something w/an XF(ish) tip that will drive a hook home on a long cast in shallow water. A crisp/fast tip isnt too heavy if that makes sense. Something under $200, in MH-H, XF or...

The Rebel raider
Curious if anyone else uses this little gem? We've been killing it on the river w/them last couple years. In fact its knocked the mighty yozuri snap bean off my 7 yr old's rod due to castability. They cut through the air really well, handle up to moderate current, offer something unique, are availab...

Re: Aluminum pinion and brass Main gear
Thanks guys. Bantam, I realise you're on the US side of the pond- but I may notve been clear...My thought was to simply grab the pinion out of the lefty JDM Metanium MG7 as it's the same ratio as the chronarch 101D7 (and is available). To avoid needing the washers and main (and keep the brass main).....

Aluminum pinion and brass Main gear
So my chronarch 101D has a ring or indentation in one spot all the way around the pinion teeth... Looking at the location, I believe it was from the previous owner orientating it in backwards when assembling and attempting to engage it. I looked at my main gear under a Jeweler's loupe and I really t...
