Re: YoZuri SuperBraid 8

Just got off the lake ... lays on the spool well, no wind knots, holds a knot ... a fish or two would have been nice

Board Sponsor Shout Out ...

Thanks to TackleTrap.com ...
I purchased 3 rods in the past month. All were packed carefully and shipped quickly.
Great prices + a discount for TT members.
A few non-rod purchases all well done!

Keep up the great work

Re: Good split ring pliers

Ordered the Texas Tackle split ring pliers per recommendation. Got them today. Small is definitely small BUT look well made. Here’s to new beginnings and thanks to all who participated. Wish I could tell you there’ll be a little something extra in your pay envelope this week but hey, knowing you’ve ...

Reel covers always, rod covers rarely.

Re: Gan Craft 230 Replacement

I am SOOOOO glad I never got really bit by the big swimbait bug. It almost happened but you help put the whole thing into perspective ... I go a bit nuts for a few extra OSP baits if I lose one but I know what those Gan Crafts costs, bless you!

Re: Adding length to a rod

In my opinion, you're better off just getting another rod that suits your needs. If you don't think you can do the work, and need to pay to have it done, I think you're money ahead finding a different rod. Not to mention the loss of any warranty you may have by doing this work. Personally, adding t...

Re: Adding length to a rod

I’m trying to figure out what I want to do. I don’t have the skill or the willingness to learn to do rod work necessary. Thanks.

Re: Catfishing

I’ve caught 2 channel cats on 4” power worms, 1 channel cat on an Evergreen One’s Bug and 1 channel cat on an O.S.P. Blitz Max. All were about the same size, 2lbs or so. The hard baits were topwater/shallow cranks.

Adding length to a rod

I have an Evergreen Cobra TMJS-63MH, spinning rod. Would it be possible to lengthen the rod by: 1. Remove the current cork handle and reel seat. 2. Splinting 5” or so of rod blank onto the butt end 3. Moving the reel seat and handle down and rebuilding. 4. Any additional work. OR Would it be no cost...

Re: Whatever happened to abalone?

How would they be able to determine the difference between “new” harvest and beachcomber?

Re: MB P5

Hey Johnny, I'd say the Windbuster is what you're after, I have been throwing weightless Dot Crawlers on it and it casts beautifully, even in wind (as the name implies). Sensitive, perfect balance and enough power if you're around some light cover. I don't think you'd be disappointed with it. Theo ...

Abalone is an endangered species here in the US and is likely facing similar protection elsewhere. So you can't have the inserts if you cannot source the material.
I would imagine that ended that parade while the trombonists were still doing their lip warm-ups!

Whatever happened to abalone?

Does anybody remember when abalone inserts were going to be gangbusters? I can’t remember which JDM started it OR if it was a tinkerer who opened the bait bodies and added abalone.
