Stream of consciousness about reel knob preferences. I think it was triggered by the new Tatula knobs, REVO knobs and Lew's knobs. Just on preferences and if thoughts behind preferences. That's nothing major.

Knobs

I shaped, preferably cork. Not a big fan of paddle or T shaped. Is it possible to be allergy to EVA? Not a Shimano guy but the Septons look interesting.

Re: Gan Craft Jointed Claw - is it worth it / colors

It does sound like it's worth it (not that needed that much convincing). I saw the review and it is what led me to keep looking into the bait. I'm going to go with the 178 size - my thought is to draw out / catch bigger fish. I have the smallest size Swaver and want to go bigger. Any chance of nail...

Re: Gan Craft Jointed Claw - is it worth it / colors

Yes. #08 Ezo Ugui #16 Waka Ayu I don't know which iteration of TT it was but there is my story of watching a bass hit my Jointed Claw #148. The reservoir water was gin clear. The bass was huge. I was in awe, pulled the bait away too quickly. That was my tale of woe. If you can find the Megabass Limb...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)

Steez or not Steez, why did Daiwa take the Shimano Scorpion spool design from almost 20 years ago and reintroduce it? I know I'm not the first to bring this to anyone's attention. Huh? Huh? On top, new Daiwa Tatula spool. On bottom, quite similar to the point of almost exact.Almost 20 year old Scor...

Re: How fast is too fast?

I like the 1516 9.1 RR reel. I was doing my own comparisons between the 1516 and the 1016 and didn't find much torque loss. My chosen quarry were largemouth BUT there were a few small channel cats that were eager to hit a topwater. The cats, in my opinion, gave a better workout on the drag than the ...

The knobs on the JDM TW SV are different. I don't know how to explain it but they don't fit right.

Re: What happen to the Z hype?

Fish the Z2020 & you'll know why people want a Z1016 8-) Ehh, ~~. Z2020 is a very good non-bass reel but a forced square peg bass reel. It's a bit big and heavy for standard duty applications, but when it comes to swimbaits there isn't a better lowpro out there. X2 And an awesome A rig reel as ...
