Looks like even my German countrymen are excited about this reel! And that has to say something when a super critical German gets that excited! ;)

Any idea where these rods are made and who makes them?

Infinitely curious here...
Made in China, like almost everything else from Pure Fishing.
I think the reels are Korea and Sweden, last time I checked.

Re: ZPI Reel?

Is it possible the owner of this BNIB reel applied the Hot Sauce to the internals in an attempt to figure out what the problem was? ZPI carries their own grease designed for baitcasters, why would they use Hot Sauce? ZPI grease would cost them next to nothing and Hot Sauce isn't cheap. I believe th...

MLF/BPT opinion

I've liked MLF since the introduction. BPT is starting to shake out the bugs, I'm liking BPT too.

Re: ZPI Reel?

For any of you who may be curious, I was sent a brand new in the box Alcance NS to be repaired. Out of the box the worm gear was not turning. Upon opening the reel, it was found that the idler gear was completely left out of the reel. Further more, IMO this is nothing special, other than the spool....

Re: Reels Over Rated Or Under Rated

Daiwa 15 Zillion TW 1516, under rated. It's a tank. It might be less refined than the 1016 but it's a tank.

Re: Daiwa Coastal

Daiwa has had a few “Coastal” reels in the last few years. The Zillion Coastal is a great reel. The one based on the Aird was ok, but nowhere near as nice. The last one is blue, based on the Tatula, I love this one but I’m a big fan of the TWS reels, I had to ditch the handle though, this big round...

Re: ZPI Reel?

On a related note, ZPI could have been a very good decision. We are looking at it from an enthusiast point perspective. We are a sub-set of a sub-set. Think back 15 years. Who was around beside ZPI? King of the mountain. Sure, there were other spool, handle and lube company but ZPI were the premier ...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

Well, if you guys want made in Japan rods with great value, you got to take a look at Olympic and Yamaga Blank. It is too bad both of these companies doesn't really give damn about Bass fishing. :-({|= I can't say it was a damn but Olympic put out a fair to middlin' line of reasonably priced bass s...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

You guys realize Megabass rods are made in China, right? I get the knock on American companies outsourcing overseas, but my gripe on Dobyns is he uses inexpensive, low grade blanks. So he's charging good money with two questionable red flags. Are all Megabass rods made in China or just from a certa...

Simple answer, with Daiwa and Shimano off-shoring much of their line-up, why not join the party?
