Re: TT or TTF ... Which came first for you?

It had to have been the Forum. I was a member of at BFHP (now defunct) and I don't remember if it was CAL or GamblerHydra who recommended TT. I was using MB and EG rods a couple years before coming here via a write-up in Inside Line magazine. TT was a lot different that most of the other forums. I t...

Re: Terrible Chinese knock off reels

This is why the big players in the game should give some thought to quality tackle at knock off prices. We know better and might pick something like this just for giggles. Someone new to the sport, doesn't know any better and gets nothing but aggravation for their money. There are several tackle ma...

If you're using HiVis braid you can see your lack line jump. I don't have much lack line either, except for flutes. Bass seem to hold on to them lack line or not. Lack line not a problem for me.
Always watch the line. HiVis or regular.

Re: A few thumbnail sketch opinions

Used the rod for working a swimjig with a toad trailer today. I was pleasantly surprised with the sensitivity and strke detection. As noted above, it's heavy action with a moderate fast taper. There was no sloppiness or tentativeness.
We shall see.

Re: Line recommendations

fished mostly mono and then FC in relatively clear KY lakes for years. Had 50# braid on one rig and no confidence. Fishing 30# braid in Florida now for about 10 years I have transferred it to my KY lakes with no impact. My theory- I can't see the crap (downside of light braid) and I don't think fis...

Re: A few thumbnail sketch opinions

...Figured I would hit a different cove. Turned the key, outboard turned right over. That made me happier. I'd changed the spark plugs a few week backs. My first shakedown cruise didn't go too well, the plugs fell out. I was afraid of tightening them too tightly but anyway ... Got to the first dock...

Looks to me, Shimano is a fan of Abu Revo big gear box styling. Imitation is the sincerity form of flattery.

A few thumbnail sketch opinions

1. YGK X8 22lb #1 - Used on baitcaster and spinning, not recommending AT ALL. Too wispy, fine, thin. Didn't cast well, among other things. For me, a thumbs down. 2. Evergreen USA Combat Stick 7'3" Heavy, Moderate-Fast. Let's get this out of the way, Evergreen USA isn't Evergreen International. I mea...

Is there a setting on the forum to change the background to a darker mode?

The all white is killing my eyes....

Thanks.

Looks like even my German countrymen are excited about this reel! And that has to say something when a super critical German gets that excited! ;)
