Wouldn't the proto revo be the 1st Revo that was a Cabelas or some other retailer exclusive?
Proto Revo? PaleoRevo. Antediluvian Revo.

Re: Your favorite obscure reels

Kudos to new2BC4bass for mentioning the ABU Black Max 1600c. I've never known anyone else who used these but they are tiny "tanks." I bought a couple on clearance in the early 90s. Loaded them with spiderwire and mounted them on Shimano Crucial rods. SUPER comfortable to palm. Awesome drag. Built l...

Re: Tat Elite vs Zillion SV

Just had to check something based upon lurking on the topic, the RR. Even the 8.1:1 is only 33.9”/turn. Compare to Zillion 1516 XXH 9.1:1 40”/turn

Re: gear meshing

I’ve read about something like marking gears on a spinning reel but not on baitcasters.

Re: Pro Bass Fisherman

This is timely, as I watched the MLF tourney on Lake Eufala this past week and watched Bret Hite using Evergreen America rods. Up until last year, he had JDM sticks on his deck. That’s not to say he doesn’t have JDM models in his boat. If you want to engage in tackle conspiracy theories, you could s...

Yes, new smaller size. I guess they are coming out with new patterns as well. Personally not sure if a smaller size is needed? I don't like going down to 2 hooks vs 3.
Finally found it! It’s the Shorty and got the pattern.
Can someone please post a photo of this new bait?

Re: The Offseason Changes Continue!

Several Quantum guys have went to Lew's, as well. Gerald Swindle, Shaw Grigsby and KVD, if course. Quantum to Lew’s was a major realignment because Lew’s bought out Strike King. It was a big move of pros. It’s one thing to change from Quantum to Lew’s. It’s a whole other thing when you’re forced to...

How long has Berkley sat on that design? Doomsday has been around for several years now.
Those notches on the claws look a lot like the tail section of the Imakatsu Javalon which has got to be 10 years old, at least.

Re: Steez SV 8.1:1

That reel has the hybrid brass/aluminum main gear circ. Maybe replace those with solid brass gears in the same speed. But that wont change the amount of torque, as that is a constant based on the math. The diameter of the main gear and gear ratio play a part in that equation, but torque is inversel...

Re: Prescription Sunglasses?

I have costa and wiley x prescription glasses I like both. I prefer the wileys as I like having the foam inserts that block the side light but I think the costas work better. I get a new pair every two years as thats what my insurance allows. I dont need prescription lenss but asked my eye doctor t...

Have people become too lazy to cast?
Not for casting, for recon an area. I thought about it after watching a couple episodes of the MLF Redcrest. Locate weedbeds, drop off, boulders, etc.
