Re: Goodbye Gander Mountain
Gander Mountain gun prices were ridiculously high compared to other stores in town. They always had Glocks marked up $100 more than other places. I found some good ammo prices there though sometimes. Fishing selection was not big enough for me to even bother with. They have always had a high price ...

Re: JDM Tatula SV
I figured it was handle bearings, just like USDM Shimano reels sometimes lack knob bearings versus their JDM counterparts, it is a non essential area that doesn't affect performance critically. I don't know why they have it listed as one less bearing, it is probably 2 less (one per knob). I have tr...

Re: JDM Tatula SV
That's odd. I know the Tatula bearing content consists of: 1 bearing on each side of the spool (2 total), 1 bearing under the cast control, 2 on the main shaft, 1 roller bearing, and one in each knob (2 total)... For a maximum of 8, including the roller bearing. I have no idea which one of those be...

Re: Tatula TW SV vs Curado 70hg
Got my SV's yesterday, a 7.1 and an 8.3 JDM. I just want to say that I am very impressed with these two reels. Threw 50lb SX1 on one and 10lb InvizX on the other and have enjoyed how the SV controls both lines. The anti-backlash hype is loud.. but set at 20 it's Incredibly difficult to get a bad one...

JDM Tatula SV
Hey guys, long time reader but first time poster.. I was drawn here by the genuine wealth of reel knowledge. I was lucky enough to find a great deal on two Tatula SVs. My first was a USDM 7.3:1 and my second was a JDM 8.1:1. However, I really don't know what to expect performance wise between the tw...

Re: Tatula TW SV vs Curado 70hg
I'm in the same position except I own a Curado 70 and really like it. However, I'm considering the 8.1:1 Tatula SV to replace a Lews TP for light plastic duty. I can't decide if I want to pull the trigger or not but the prices on new Tat SVs are silly low. I just wish it came with a true SV floating...
