Try Brad's jigs. Or you can learn to tie some. It's really easy.

Re: JDM UL rods are tough.
Alphahawk, After reading multiple reviews from you regarding UL JDM rods, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the 7'4" version of the same rod. One thing I was hesitant on was the tip. I broke 3 tips on my iron feather before they went to a solid tip model. Hopefully the truzer will be just as ...

Voted D. Started with a BSF. And currently have a 101D that is solid. Used mostly for bottom contact. Just feels different. Probably never get rid of this reel.

Re: Elixir Flipping
This was my first starter rod for trout. Mainly use it for jig n float with a woolly bugger or power worm for stocker trouts in lakes.. Works awesome. Can also work as a shakey head rod. Doesn't have that tip for dropshot. Its telescopic and goes from 8' to 7'.

Re: Favorite UL line
I'm a trout fisherman and love nanofil in 3lbs test on all my 1000 size reels. I do use a little bit of backing to prevent slippage. I'll tie a 12" leader 4lb-6lb flouro with an alberto knot.

Re: Phenix Elixir
I started out with an elixir. Moved to the mirage and also bought an iron feather. The mirage is very moderate, it hardly sees any action. The iron feather has the tip of a mirage but 2/3 down has enough muscle to bring in large stocker trout. My favorite is the iron feather paired with a presso 100...
