Re: Show us your Sol

What blank is that you're talking about ? I'm asking because I am also looking for a blank for a BFS rod for chub and perch and any advice is welcome. The reel I already have is an Orange Amber Pixy. It's a St Croix Legend Inshore UL/M casting rod I bought from the classifieds here. I got it in my ...

Re: Show us your Sol

This is a timely thread as I am looking for a orange reel to go on a BFS rod with a royal blue blank. I was looking at an Amber Orange Pixy, but man, some of those Sols are gorgeous looking. Am I right in thinking that they are just an orange, USDM version of the Alphas 103? What blank is that you'...

Re: Where are the shimanos?

Didn't plan to obtain a Aldebaran MGL this summer but I'm glad I got one now! Love the tweaked paint job and MGL treatment. Spooled up some 8lb Mono for play sake and was casting more than half the spool off 100' casts across the street no problem  I've used Aldebaran for 10lb Fluoro and the t...

Re: Phenix Recon PHX-C682 and PHX-C712 differences

That's exactly what I meant: If the rod’s tip is too fast it’s harder to get lighter baits out there. That's why I said I do not think the PHX-C713 is the right choice for small hardbaits and, in my opinion, the old Recon PHX-C712 or the new Feather 7’1” light would make a better BFS rod because the...

Re: Phenix Recon PHX-C682 and PHX-C712 differences

I did not fish the Recon PHX-713C, I only saw it in the store and this is my opinion, that this rod is not the best choice for fishing with small hardbaits. I might be mistaken, but that's what I think after I fished these two models of Phenix Recon: https://i.imgur.com/YbWVE97.jpg https://i.imgur.c...

Re: Phenix Recon PHX-C682 and PHX-C712 differences

I called phenix about the light power recons both 6'8" and 7'1" and the 7'1" feather. He said they were all virtually identical in power and taper with the 6'8 being a bit quicker in the tip but the feather was noticeable lighter overall. I got the feather 7'1" and it does very ...

Phenix Recon PHX-C682 and PHX-C712 differences

I kindly ask those who have fished these 2 rods, to tell me what are the main differences, of course besides the obvious difference in length. I am referring to whether the 5 inches more make the PHX-C712 softer than the PHX-C682, more suitable for fishing with small hard baits ?
Thanks !!!

Re: Please help: Daiwa Alpha Ito- Front plastic part

What reel could be compatible to the alpha ito's. I contacted daiwa and ito company and they replied that this reel is so old that they cannot provide me with parts. Is there a way for me to find parts for this? THanks in advance. https://content.screencast.com/users/ronniek5242/folders/Jing/media/...
