Re: Deep cranking rod?

I used to use an OG Tatula 721MHRB-Glass and honestly it worked almost as well as the Zillion 801MHRB-G, even though it was considerably shorter and rated for an ounce less, so IMO it's good you're not too hung up on length. I purchased on a whim a zillion 7’2” medium heavy regular and was told it ...

Re: One Nice All-Purpose Spinning rod

All this talk about the 842 is making me want one lol. So far I really really like my 852s nrx. Not designed to be all purpose but so far haven’t found anything I don’t like throwing on it. Would love to grab a longer conquest like a 902s or a used nrx 902s if I stumble across one I would be all ov...

Deep cranking rod?

Looking at getting into deep cranking. Now that’s hunting seasons around fishing is going be a little slow for me but looking at getting it soon to make sure I have it for next season. Reel will be curado k or bantam mgl depending on budget. Never fished deep cranks so looking to try almost everythi...

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?

Unfortunately I only have 2 nrx’s and 3 glx’s but from fishing the glx’s I could only imagine how nice they’d be in the nrx. I currently have an 853c and 852s. Between the two I love that 852s. I’ve thrown tubes, hair jigs, flukes, senko’s, drop shot, shakey head, larger ned rigs, spybaits, jerkbait...

Re: Expride 7' light spinning

I have a 7’ light plus as well. Excellent rod! Makes a nice ned rig rod, not bad open water ds rod, small hair jig, spybaits. Crazy light, sensitive, and so far has proven very useful, surprisingly powerful!

Re: R.I.P. NRX 872s

If you like the 6’10” then the nrx 822s dsr is there actual dropshot rod. I fish there glx version of it and love it. Has a great tip, soft yet powerful. Really keeps fish pinned. I also have an 852s and handled the 872s 100 times while going back and forth with the 852/872 and it would work for a d...

Re: Super tough bite! Help

I never tried a spoon, it didn’t even cross my mind! I did try a spy bait with some success in other areas of the lake but nothing too great. I’ve never had much success on a swimbaits. I throw kietechs, dark sleepers, and jackall rhythm wave. I’m wondering if I’m fishing them wrong, wrong sizes, wr...

Super tough bite! Help

I’ve been coming to a cottage in northern Ontario for 12 years now. Its on a beauty little lake that is super clear, and perfect for swimming but locating and picking up fish has always been tougher but still successful. This year we’ve located schools of smallies off an island that’s a rock ledge t...

Re: Rods with the 'it' Factor

So far I’m really liking the expride 7’ light+ for neds and spybaits actually! Nrx 852s for senkos, and light neko rigs Glx 894c for 3/8-1/2oz jigs I haven’t found something I really like my nrx 853c for. It seems to do a lot pretty well but nothing that’s been dedicated to it. Oddly enough I’ve enj...

Re: Shimano conquest 903c?

for what its worth, i have the poor man's version of this rod (the E6X 903c) and I must say I love it. I throw everything with it, the extra length combined with the MBR MH taper is awesome. I would imagine the Conquest version would cast a little better (better guides) and be more crisp. Thank you...

Re: Shimano conquest 903c?

Thank you everyone, I might have to pass on it cause I really need a rod that can handle a 110 whopper plopper. I don’t throw a lot of chatterbaits as I’ve had terrible luck with them. Not sure if I’m really looking for a rod of this length. I always wanted an 893 nrx but I now have 894, 853, 852 so...

Shimano conquest 903c?

Looking at potentially picking one up from a buddy at a good price. Wondering from anyone who has experience what your thoughts are on this rod, and what you find it best for? I really don’t need it, but if I did I would kind of like it for chatterbaits, paddletails, whopperploppers and double down ...

I’m pretty new to using a drop shot but so far I really like my glx 822s dsr paired with a ci4+. Been great
