Re: Antares 70 A

Didn't fished it so no experience there. But to me, the day shimano releases a full magnesium antares below 6.3oz is the day i'll be interested. They're just too heavy for my liking.

Re: REVO LTX BF8

Go on YouTube and type in the reel name, look for “The Reel Test” this guy does some of the best reviews on tackle, he’s done a few videos on this reel already The reel is good. But the guy you've suggested is a blind shimano fanboy. He has really poor reviews if you want accurate unbiased opinions...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

The new 34mm DIY spools are very nice. Great build quality, quiet, and smooth rotation. Spooled my gold and black spools with 10lb X8 JBraid. The spools are very free with easy start-up and need a bit more brake than my zpi Ms. Cast 3g spoons very far and with ease. How's the stock bearing? Have yo...

Re: Accurist S3

My Megabass rods told me that if i were to put a Quantum reel on their reel seat, they would leave me and not come back.

In early 2000's, the accurist was my first baitcaster reel. For the time, it was good. But that's because i had no standards

Re: Poison adrena 2018?

Fished mine in the pouring rain a few weeks ago. Let me tell ya, it sucked. Gonna be a fair weather rod only :-({|= Grab yourself some shrink wrap. A buddy of mine did this and not only does it look good and protects carbon from scratches, but the grip is also better than eva and cork Something lik...

had this happen in a pixy. was the spool bearing. remove the side plate and spool bearing, flush them and lube em both. should do the trick.

Re: Daiwa T3 1016 Reels today...

For how cheap they go for, there's no reason not to own one. From the cheapo versions (ballistic, original t3, t3 sv and MX), the MX with the RCS1016 spool is my favorite. But the FX series from MG and the Mago from Gancraft are nocticeably smoother

I dont understand anyone getting anything 13fishing over daiwa/shimano/abu/MB. Really don't.
They like the colors.
Daiwa has the colors as well, and their paint doesn't look like a $9.99 spray can from your local hardware store.

Re: Don't shoot the messenger...

I dont understand anyone getting anything 13fishing over daiwa/shimano/abu/MB. Really don't. Some could argue that they dont understand why anyone would spend more than $100 on a reel or rod. Sure, the kind of fisherman that fishes once a month on the weekend. Probably the same person that has a $9...

Re: 1016 BFS Reel

T3's may be great casters, but i wouldn't even consider taking one over a tdz. A used steez can be had for like $150. SS SV is another option i'd take into consideration.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Fund an even lighter spool. They have it for Tats and the 34mil steez platform. 6.3g with bearing, but they go for $70. After someone orders one of these, let us know how they perform. The inductor is pretty small. https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/modified-micro-objects-spool-D-fishing-wheel...

Never pull from the reel or rod, take the line pull it tight and then ping it like shooting an arrow, usually the lure jumps out of the snag.
Yup, i do that, but if it doesn't come out, i was just placing my thumb on the spool and pull. No more, tho.

I always place my thumb on the spool in hopes that this saves strain on the drive train and gears. In the future I'll try and wrap my line around something else and try to pull out lure and\or break line.
i dont think placing your thumb does anything because that is all i have been doing.
