Re: Pixy vs alphas bfs reel

Using the Air BFS bearings from Hedgehog on the Finesse Special. i'm primarely using it for 1/8oz jigheads with a 3" swing impact fats or easyshiners. Works great. One thing that i was able to do with the Cosugi spool that is very poorly done with the Finesse Special is flipping 2g lures. It was alm...

Re: Steez 103 R+ spool

As of late i'm beginning to like the R spools more than the R+ ones. Still do prefer the R+ ones for fluoro, but for braid the R spools feel so free.

Re: Pixy vs alphas bfs reel

I had a blue Cosugi works spool for the alphas that i traded for a used metanium mg dc  Wasn't worth it. The lowest i threw was 1.8g. Best bfs spool i've had. With thin braid to fluoro leader that thing was perfect. On pixy i'm using the PX68 Finesse Special. Awesome spool, but it cannot accele...

Steez CT frame zillion with a 34mm spool would be nice for sure

We still have the Alphas which came out in what? 2002? the CT just came out in 2019. Same platform *minus the 30mm spool* for so long. Same with the Millionaire. There are no other brands that stick to their beloved frames like Daiwa does.

Personally, i never understood the point of shaving off weight at the section of the rod that balances it

I use mine for musky with 50lb braid. Wouldn't want to trade it for any other reel.

Re: So who bought the ZPI Alcance?

ZPI is most likely going back to producing custom parts by early 2021 :laugh1:

There is simply no way they're making bank on these.

Just grab some older models. Not only are they built like tanks, but they look nice too.

Re: So who bought the ZPI Alcance?

It's like dating a fat girl or riding a moped ....sure, it might end up being fun, but nobody wants their friends to see them doing it! I don't see it even being "fun". We already have our quality Made in Japan reels that have access to ZPI spools for almost 20 years. Why spend $300 on a Doyo reel,...

So who bought the ZPI Alcance?

I heard they're not producing custom parts anymore, instead, they're into selling rods and reels now. Is anybody even buying them?
