Re: Was the Daiwa CG CC CR 80's a colossal failure to Daiwa?

I was told in no uncertain terms by a respected member of another forum that the Fuego Ct was a "garbage reel" aka use it and throw it in trash when done....yet I have sold Daiwa T3 1016s in favor of the Fuego... So I wont discount these new Daiwa reels....hell maybe I will buy one and gi...

Re: Was the Daiwa CG CC CR 80's a colossal failure to Daiwa?

Most guys here would never give that family of reels a second look, due to the out-sourcing of the construction to a Chinese OEM company. Daiwa collaborated on the design and spec's, but they are 100% "hecho en Chine". Im well aware about TT standards, but i was generally speaking. You do...

Was the Daiwa CG CC CR 80's a colossal failure to Daiwa?

Ever since they came out, you never hear anyone mentioning these. Its like they were already discontinued and forgotten.

Re: Dialing In a Curado DC

If i was thinking of getting a curado dc, i would just get a metanium mg dc in used condition. Better reel and no problems with casting.

This is so sad to hear. I though a carbon wrap with epoxy would fix the thing?

Anyone able to repair a rod?

Just fund out that one of my og Megabass rods have a small crack on the blank :( From Canada, so someone locally would be preferable to save on shipping cost, but i'm desperate enough to ship to the US, i just want it to be fixed for the coming season. If any of you are able to help, please let me k...

Oil: Bantam oil for shimano. Ardent oil for most everything else. Penn oil for cheaper reels. Grease: Daiwa Molybdenum for daiwa spinning reel gears. Shimano ACE-2-DG04 for baitcast reel gears. Shimano DG06 for idle gears and other light applications. Cals for drag washers. I use very similar stuff...

Re: Gear ratio: 8 VS 7?

For frogging and flipping i would go to no more than 8.1. For everything else, not a fan of going over 6.8.

6.1-6.4 being my fav ratios.

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa

Who even buys high end in the states? Reels are not rods, they're very easy to repair (not that they even break to begin with) so the warranty you'd get from TW is really pointless
