Re: Any reviews on the new Phenix m1s ?

Following this thread, if sensitivity on the revamped M1 lineup is at least on par for the price range I will probably snatch up a 7'8" MH.

Re: What is your "all around" spinning stick?

Well, F it. We're doing it boys; we're getting a spinning rod. Shakey, Neko, 4" senko, and the occasional lil Keitech on a jighead. Maybe a little hair jig? Let's get wild. Paired with some 2000 or 2500 series Daiwa. Keep the length around 7' and the DM US. Please and thanks. What are you using, an...

Re: New Daiwa reel?

Honestly intrigued by the J-Fluoro Samurai, ranges from 2 to 25 lb test and made in Japan.

Re: Kayak on Subaru Outback?

I throw my Old Town Topwater 120 PDL on top of a Ford Focus hatchback, but in order to get comfortable doing that I spent a decent chunk of change on Yakima cross bars and the Yakima "Big Catch" kayak saddles that are designed for heavier fishing kayaks. I'm in and out of the water a little bit fast...

Re: Daiwa rebillion rods?

How come they don't have the rod weights listed on the Daiwa site? I find that annoying. ](*,) The Daiwa Japan site does have own weights listed if you scroll near the bottom of the Rebellion page. 731MHFB model is listed at 120g, for reference. I would assume the JDM 7'3" MHF is identical to the U...

Re: Battery Setup for Helix 7

I just purchased a Helix 7 SI G2 and now I'm looking at batteries and battery boxes. I have a Topwater 120 PDL and I think I'd prefer to have the battery under the front hatch instead of mounted on a side rail. Are there any particular products/configurations that you'd recommend? Will some of the ...

Re: Battery Setup for Helix 7

I highly recommend going with the Nacqua. Obviously expensive, but worth it IMO at least. Super small and easy to put just about anywhere. Also, super easy charging with the supplied charger. I have been using the 10Ah with my Helix 7 for 2 years without any issues at all. Thanks for the feedback! ...

Re: Daiwa Rebellion Rods 2020

Any insights on the blanks used for this line? Specifically interested in how they stack up against other Daiwa offerings like Kage, Tatula, or Cronos. Rebellion rods feature HVF blanks which are more durable and offer more torque than SVF blanks than their HVF counterparts. Rebellion rods utilize ...

Re: Daiwa Rebellion Rods 2020

I handled them while I was in Japan. They certainly have a high end, JDM look to them and they feel nice as well. jmd - that 610MHRB is exactly that, I had my eye on it as well, and it feels like an awesome target casting spinner bait/chatter bait type rod that will double as a fantastic full sized...

Re: Daiwa Lexa LT

I busted out a scale out this evening to test the drag on some light settings and got super smooth/consistent pressure from 1 to 3 lbs. Set at two pounds, five clicks either direction amounted to a change of roughly 0.10 lbs. I also took a peek at the drag stack and now I'm curious if the shallow sp...
