I just purchased a small tin of ACE-2 from my local authorized Shimano Repair Station, (Southwestern Parts and Service in Dallas).
The repair guy said he never heard of ACE-0, which Bantam1 posted as what they use for cross-carbon drag washers. Good luck!

From the Curado E and newer the main drive gear has finer teeth. What grease does Shimano recommend? Have a bunch to service. Thanks!

Followup: Installed the Boca Bearing SMR74C-YZZ AF2 kit. I decided not to mess with grease and lubed with a drop of Quantum Hot Sauce oil. Knobs spin real nice now. If you do this yourself, be aware of the thin shim and its proper placement in the stack.

I have several other Curados that already have Orange Seals. I have some nice toys for messing with bearings...ultrasonic cleaner, Bearing...

The anodizing on my older Metanium XT spool got pitted when fished in salt. So I don't use my Scorpion 1000 in salt. I took the precaution of swapping out the XT stock bearings for A-RB's.

Bantam...thanks so much for driving a stake in the ground on this topic. I own one each 4000 Sahara and Sonora (with the dreaded rear drag), and a Quantum PTi 40 and PTi 20a. The Quantums came heavily lubed with Hot Sauce Grease and Oil, so I guess their gear design is different (not to say better)....
