I thought this was the reason as well. Isn't this why some tout shimanos "smoother under load" than the daiwas with short shafts?

Re: “Finesse” flipping jigs
Outkast cage feider because it has a horizontal line tie. Second choice would be the beast coast lil magnum followed by riot baits minima tungsten.

Re: Beast Coast Tungsten Lil' Magnum Jig
I've fished the beast coast lil magnum over the past two seasons and I like it a lot. I do notice a tungsten jig will fall slightly faster than a lead jig of the same weight, but I generally don't downsize just because I'm throwing tungsten over lead.

Re: Okuma Hakai
I bought the Hakai as a really light reel for the Epitome. I got the reel long before the rod and used it for a variety of things. It wound up on my cranking rod since it really bomb casts a long way. It replaced a Tatula Elite Mag Z setup. I may give it a go on the Epitome for a super light combo ...

Re: Okuma Hakai
Anyone end up picking one of these up? I grabbed one last year when it was $169 (instead of $199) and it's worked well for me. Want to hear some other perspectives though before I pull the trigger on another one. Magnesium frame and brass gear for under 6oz is the main appeal to me, but the tatula s...

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis
Update on my October 27th order for others still waiting: Got in contact with Maria, the rod manager at Edge rods. I was informed that there are 16 builds ahead of mine. Was also informed that they are currently out of guides for the epitome, but that they expect a restock and to continue building i...

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis
I ordered mine October 27 so I can't imagine how far back I am. Status hasn't changed from "inventory check" since the day I ordered it.doomtrprz71 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 6:54 pm
I ordered August 16th and my rod doesn't even show in production yet.

Re: Team Lews ELITE-Ti SLP looks better than anything from Daiwa/Shimano
Maybe they have changed, but I bought a few back before covid hit. I had to find reels that gave me the option of a quantity of 1. Just tried on a different browser with the same result. Maybe something happened due to covid. Hopefully they'll go back to shipping to the US or fix their website. I r...

Re: Team Lews ELITE-Ti SLP looks better than anything from Daiwa/Shimano
How? Every time I try to buy a reel directly from the Doyo site it tells me it can't be shipped to the US. I've also tried calling them but I don't think they have an english option

How to buy a Doyo reel?
I've tried to purchase a coba elite directly from the Doyo website several times. For some reason, every time I try, I get a message that it cannot be shipped to the United States. Anyone know why this is? My best guess is an agreement with Lew's not to sell in the US market, but I'd still like to h...

Re: 2019 Daiwa Morethan PE 1000 TW
The 8.6:1 can be had for as little as $365. Do Steez TW SV go for this low too? To me the Morethan is a Betterthan Steez with aluminum frame a bronze main gear. How can they go fo so cheap? Can anyone tell me where I can find the 8.6 in right hand for this low of a price? Seems like everyone on thi...

Re: Refreshed 13 concept reels
Been fishing them on and off the last month or so... casting performance is really good, but the brakes are just a hair temperamental for me. I like the Z SLD better than the C2, but that's probably just because it's the flagship. Very comfortable reels to fish. Thanks for the feedback Cal, looking...

Anyone take the dive and try one of these refreshed concepts? I’d be interested to see if anyone has experience with the new C2

Re: Kistlers warranty and the curse of 2020
Man I feel your pain. In 2020 alone I've had 3 Megabass Destroyer Onagers break on me, only once due to user error. Had a couple $100+ swimbaits break off on the cast or lost to a snag. Had a curado k/avid x combo stolen off me, and just recently had a Megabass Valkyrie and a st croix lexend xtreme ...
