Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

I did order a 843c Conquest and have fished with it a little so far. It is taking some getting used to. I fished a jig for so long on my NRX, I was used to the way it fished. The taper on the Conquest is slower and softer than the NRX 853c I had before. The Conquest is sensitive, but it just feels d...

Re: Conquest rods shipping

The rod I sold was a NRX 853c. The rod I replaced it with was a Conquest 843c.

New Loomis GLX 853c

I sold my NRX 853C JWR that I had for for five years. I liked that rod, but was intrigued by the new Conquest. I have ordered one and I’m not sure that I like it. I could order the same NRX I had, but I am inclined to try a GLX 853c. I have the new GLX spinning rods and I like them very much. I have...

Re: Conquest rods shipping

Bantam,
I just got my 843c Conquest. In my first short trip out, it is very clear that the MBR with the fast tip is much softer than my NRX. It is clearly going to be more versatile, but am I going to like it as much for jig and worm fishing (primary use of this rod) as the NRX I sold.

New G. Loomis Conquest Spin Jig rods

Does anyone have one of these yet? I was hoping to hear from someone who has actually fished these rods?

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

To get clarification on the warranty, I emailed G. Loomis directly. Below is their response. I ordered a new Conquest 843c yesterday.

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

This might be very important. You will want to clarify the warranty. I assumed it would have a limited lifetime warranty like other G. Loomis rods. My tackle shop says it only has a one year warranty (like Shimano rods). I sold my NRX for one of these and now I wished I hadn’t. There is no way I am ...

Strike King Red Eye Shad Tungsten 2 Tap vs regulaR Red Eye

Is the Tungsten model really better? Will it catch more fish?

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

I was able to put my hands on a 843c at my local tackle shop. I didn’t pull the trigger due to the very high cost. I am waiting on some real world feedback. Has anybody bought one and spent some time on the water with it?

Re: El Salto trip

We had a great trip at El Salto. I would highly recommend Angler’s Inn. The first day we only caught 15 fish and I caught 14 of them. My 17 year old son was missing fish fishing, getting hung up, getting wind knots, and pretty much any other thing that could go wrong. He was getting really discourag...

El Salto trip

My wife just surprised me with a trip for me and my son to the Angler’s Inn at El Salto for my 50th birthday. We leave in a couple of weeks. I’m trying to plan for the trip. I would love to hear from some one who has been there. I have plenty of tackle, but with some tight flight arrangements and no...
