El Salto trip

My wife just surprised me with a trip for me and my son to the Angler’s Inn at El Salto for my 50th birthday. We leave in a couple of weeks. I’m trying to plan for the trip. I would love to hear from some one who has been there. I have plenty of tackle, but with some tight flight arrangements and no...

G. Loomis GLX vs new Conquest Spin jig

I have a GLX (newest one) 822S SYR rod that I love. It is perfect for Shakey heads. I also use it to throw 1/4 Megabass Popx poppers. I have caught a lot of 4 pound spots and one nearly 8 pound bass wth the Popx on this setup. However, I do lose some fish. Would I be better off with a new Loomis Con...

I just went outside and checked for you and the ones on PopMax are a little bigger.

Re: Pop Max

#6. I ordered some from Megabass. Somehow ordered 4 packs of two each. Oh well, I guess I will eventually use them. I'm convinced that the feathered tail on the Pop x is one of the big things that attract the fish to it.

Loctite on knots

Does anyone use Loctite on their knots when joining one type of line to another? If so, does it help?

The best colors are Black Orochi, White Python, and Sexy French Pearl.

Spro rat

What is the most productive color rat, a natural brown or gray one or one of the wild colors like morning dawn?

Anybody use this rod? Would it make a good combo frog/Carolina rig rod?

G. Loomis IMX Pro Casting Rod 7'3" Heavy 874C CRR

Would this make a good combo Carolina rig/hollow bodied frog rod? The frog fishing I do not in real heavy, thick grass.

Seaguar Smackdown braid

I'm thinking about getting some 40 lb Smackdown braid to use on my top water rod. I've had some break offs at the knot on casts lately with my Sufix 30 lb 832. I'm using the same Alberto knit I've always used. It may just be time to replace the braid that has been on there a while. I would be intere...

How many wraps for Alberto knot

Does more wraps make the knot stronger (30 lb Sufix 832 braid to mono)?I would think so, but it seems the more wraps I use, the more often I will break. My guides are small, so maybe it is catching on the guides and weakening the knot. What do you think?

Re: Megabass Perfect Pitch for Carolina rigs

I need one rod to do both. Wouldn't 7.5 be a little long for frogs?
