Re: Exsence dc xg
I have an extra Exsence, perfect, like new. Might trade or sell if you're interested. Older, Core framed model. Awesome reels. Check out the TT review.

Re: Which BFS reel: Conquest vs Aldebaran vs SV103 (with BFS spool)
What dont you like about the scorpion? SInce it is basically a curado 70, and i have several i love, just wondering what the issue is. I have a SV105 and love it. Cast 1/8" swim baits all day. Also have a basic tatula ct with a rays spool, and it cast slightly farther than the sv105 some days. Also...

Re: Curado K vs Curado 70
I have had a 70 and the Chronarch MGL for awhile now, and just picked up a k. Had it on the water once throwing a 1/3 oz spinnerbait. It's a nice workhorse reel. Based on initial impressions I think it's the best performing 200 sized Curado to date. That being said, I believe it's going to be best f...

Re: Any info on abu Garcia Revo alx?
Both the Curado70 and ALX would do just what you are asking for.[/quote so does the alx have problems casting heavier lures rather than casting lighter lures or is it the other way around? I had no problems launching anything with that reel. I did have to turn the brakes up to about 3/4, but it did...

Re: Tatula TW SV vs Curado 70hg
I own both. The tatula is very good for skipping, but don't discount the 70 as far as a "controllable" platform. They're both pretty nice at their price points, but I prefer a smaller form ergonomically like the 70 has, especially for anything I'd use a fast gear ratio for. Moving baits and heavier ...

Re: SV103 - How many do you own?
Like you, I'm primarily a Shimano guy, having owned almost every Shimano low profile Curado and up since the E's. I also own or have owned a number of Daiwa. While I agree the sv103 is a fantastic multi purpose reel, I don't think I'd put it above a couple other reels in the same price range, namely...

Re: Curado 71 or Chronarch MGL?
I service reels locally, and I haven't seen a single Chronarch/Met for anything defective. I'd expect problems sporadically, but despite what some will tell you, Shimano casting reels are pretty solid. The finish on the ci4 reels chips easily, but mechanically the reels hold up. I haven't seen the c...

Re: Curado 71 or Chronarch MGL?
I would upgrade the bearings on the 51E and be done with it. Its a better reel. You can even get a shallow spool for it if you need. While I agree the 50e's are a fantastic platform, I think you'll like a 70 or an MGL. The 70 is probably a little more durable as far as cosmetics go, but the MGL is ...

How's it compare to the previous model in terms of performance and ergonomics?WhatsUnderTheWater wrote:Sweet spot is 3/5 or heavier. Any lower and youll see yourself backlashing or having hard times. Definitely not a finesse reel

Re: New Daiwa Steez A broke after second use...
Where did you get the SV103? Ha, that's what I thought. Been hunting a right handed 7.9 for a long time, I bet money this was a left hand purchase. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/daiwa-sv103-series-baitcast-reel There's stock of the 7.9 rh here. Full retail, but if you want it new I think it's the...
