Re: Megabass Braillist

Interesting that you found it heavy. Or unbalanced. I’ve had 5 people check out my Braillist all agreed it is well balanced and not tip or butt heavy. I realize it’s not a destroyer model and I have never picked one up to compare. In reality. I can’t afford a destroyer. Price is too high in Canada. ...

Re: Reels for Better Distance for Lighter Baits

I have a ton of reels and absolutely love my Chronarch mgl. Im not brand specific either. I have some Lews that are excellent as well. But my all time favorite for poprs etc is a Curado 101D or Chronarch D7. If you can find a good used one..

Re: Megabass Braillist

The sensitivity is great. Plenty of power but not meant for extremely heavy weeds anyway. I would recommend the rod no problem. I wouldn’t pitch anything more then 1/2 oz jig though in grass. For that I use my Dobyns 736 Champion extreme. This is my first Megabass rod so I can’t compwre to other Meg...

Megabass Braillist

Just wondering if anyone else has bought and tried the new Braillist? Mine has been great so far, but only been out twice with it. Fishes Milfoil just fine with braid and loads well and has plenty of power. Sensitivity is also very good. Im used to fishing a heavier 5 or 6 power rod so it took a sho...

Re: First look at new Megabass Orochi XX rods

Just got the Brailist and put it to work with a 1/2 oz Texas rig. Wow. Great rod. Not as stiff as I’m used to but stuck a 5lber and a bunch of 3 s. Teamed it with a Chronarch mgl

Handles

I have been searching for a while and I cant find a larger handle for two reels
1) Scorpion metanium XT
2) Scorpion 1001 MG

The handles on these two reels are too small. (short)
Can anyone tell me where I can get a larger handle for these two reels?
Im in Canada if that matters.

Thanks.

Re: scorpion metanium XT

Im torn between buying an 05 Metanium XT or a Scorpion 1000 Mg ( don't know the model year for the Mg)

Is one real better than the other?
Price is close to the same on both with XT being only slightly more.
Help me make a decision.

Re: scorpion metanium XT

Great. I have many new different brands reels as well as a few curado Es but for some reason I always want to use my curado 101d even though it might be slightly heavier. Some of my newer reels are extremely light but I don't mind the few extra ounces of the aluminum body reels. I may go pick up som...

Re: scorpion metanium XT

Ok perfect. Thanks again
Can anyone that has used the Metanium xt models offer their opinion on how they liked the reel for smoothness performance etc?
I know they probably cant compare to the newer metaniums or chronarchs but was just wondering

Re: scorpion metanium XT

Thanks. From what im understanding... The Xt models were better overall then the MG models being that the XT were aluminum as apposed to Magnesium for the MG. Correct me if im wrong.

Re: scorpion metanium XT

I was wondering if anyone knows what year the Metanium Xt is that says Metanium XT on the top / front and has two scuff protectors on each side on the top?

Re: scorpion metanium XT

Thanks for the Great! information.
Im looking to collect some older reels but im not sure which ones are the best. The red scorpions seem to be decent too but there a lot of models to sort through to figure out which ones are best.
Any input or advise would be appreciated.

Thanks Again!

scorpion metanium XT

I have a reel I picked up at garage sale. I have mostly Curado E's but this reel I picked up caught my attention. Its grey in color and a bit scratched up on the surface. It says Scorpion across the top On the side plate, It says Metanium Xt Any idea what year this reel is and how good it is? Seems ...
