Re: Bubble fishing for trout

I don’t use a bubble but do use a 9 foot rod with a float and a Trout Magnet under the float. Catches of 50-150 trout a day are common. Been doing this for about 10 years. When I first started it I went 5 days a week 365 a year for about 3 years.....but as of late I don’t wade fish as much anymore ...

Re: Bubble fishing for trout

7' fixed leader under a 1/8 oz indicator is not the easiest to cast with a 7' rod but until i find a better method.... I tried a slip bobber but when retrieving the fly it pulls it up out of the zone. What indicator are you using that weighs 1/8oz? Just wondering because I may want to try them out....

Re: Bantam MGL reviews?

Hmm. My thoughts so far is this thing is solid and extremely smooth. The cold metal feel is different compared to all of the composite reels i have and the weight is negligible for my uses. I just installed the drag clicker kit from Oleg and am looking forward to some winter rains and the upcoming s...

Looking for spinning 8' Trout stick

Looking for preferably an 8' stick for bubble fishing trout in high mountain lakes. Current favorite is a loomis TSR901 which i love but just wanting a change and a longer rod as it is 7'6", 2-6# , 1/32-3/16 and would want nothing heavier. Casting 1/8 oz weight with float and fly. Fish run 2-4#...

Daiwa Tatula Handle Nut Cover?

I have a few of the original Tats which came with the crappy plastic nut cover which is quite delicate and I have broken one. Anyone know of a suitable replacement or where i may find the original piece?

Re: Anyone use Nanofil w. 2lbs Fluoro/Mono leader?

Excuse my ignorance but why do you folks use such tiny line? I have never used anything smaller then 6# and it is a pain to tie. Just curious on the use of line that must be like trying to tie a knot with a piece of hair? :-k

Re: Kuying Teton

I also have the UL version for trout fishing. Put the calcutta conquest bfs on it and love it for trout fishing! In fact i prefer it over rods costing much more. Mostly used for tossing 1/4 spoons.
Great rod for the price.
