Re: Reels Over Rated Or Under Rated

Over rated- Chronacrh MGl- Maybe I got a lemon but after about 20 steel head it was rather geary- Sent it in twice and finally Shimano replaced the main and pinion. Upon return, fishing in cold weather the ar bearing slipped repeatedly- Tore it down and cleaned everything the factory had put inside ...

I have a pair of the original Tatula's that have been my workhorses for salmon and steelhead for the last 5 years without any problem maybe I will retire one to the salt.

Budget salt water casting reel

Looking to buy budget saltwater CASTING reel to use on 1-3# surf perch. Will mostly throw 1/2-3/4 oz. It will take a beating as I will also use it in the rocks so I do not wish to spend a few hundred dollars on it. Just bought a pflueger president as a spinning throw away sale water reel. Recommenda...

Fireline Ultra 8 in Crystal color. I use it on many reels. Easy to see and excellent line.
Sufix 832 in ghost is pure white.

Re: High quality slip floats

I’m pretty sure Gapen has some slip floats. They are high quality. Regards Those are some sweet looking floats, I will be buying a few! Scratch that- I have emailed them twice and not received a response. I cant believe in today's times companies are not better with customer service via email.

I like green and yellow, I personally would like just plain white without any die. Fireline Ultra 8 in Crystal color. I use it on many reels. Easy to see and excellent line. Yeah but the FG knot is not good with the Ultra 8 Sorry- I only use it when tying directly to terminal gear with the palomar ...

Re: Color braid?

If you wish to see the line don't use blue!
I tried it once and that was enough for me. Most of the techniques I use I need to follow the line.

Re: New fireline fused 8 carrier

I use 20# ultra 8 on numerous steelhead reels. I would guess its about the same diameter of 12# mono. Great stuff! Stiff as wire until it breaks in. 6# on the trout rods is fantastic also. I use the crystal which is easy for these old eyes to see and dont have to worry about fading like the hi vis S...

High quality slip floats

Looking for high quality slip floats between 2-4 grams. Tall orange indicator preferred. Anyone have any experience with these? I cannot find any in the US besides Thill but just ordered a few Drennan Dibber floats from the UK........ Need a tall "indicator" as usually casting 1/16th oz jig 75'-100'...

Re: Bubble fishing for trout

Ordered and received the 8' Daiwa presso.
Not impressed- sloppy cork and very top heavy even when loaded with my heaviest small reel which is a Stradic 1000FK. ](*,)

Re: Bubble fishing for trout

If you are looking for JDM around 7' 6", I think you can't beat the Olympic 2018 Corto in 7' 4". I just sold one but can vouch that it is top bang for the buck, made in Japan. Problem is that a lot of 18 Cortos are selling with some dealers. Love my Loomis TSR901 but at 7'6" it is not the best for ...
