Re: New Certate?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but would this reel be compareable to the Shimano twinpower within each companies lineup? More or less yes. The twinpower is basically a stripped down aluminum Stella, and the Certate is basically a stripped down aluminum exist. Although in previous iterations I t...

Re: New Certate?
I'm struggling to see what's new? Sealed handle and bail roller? I think it’s mostly adding the new air rotor and reintroducing the 2000 size reels back to the Certate lineup. Other than that probably mostly just marketing. It is considerably lighter than the previous generation of 16 2000 size mod...

Re: Daiwa Numbering Scheme
Not sure if making a joke or genuinely asking but I’ll answer. The 2004 is the spool size. Means 100 yards of 4lb test. It is indeed close to 15-20 years old. Made from 2005-2009.

Re: 23 Airity coming soon
I would also add that the 21 Luvias Airity and 23 Airity both seem to fill the space that the Certate held with the 2016 model and older when they still had a 1003 and 2004 model. Wish they would make a 2000 size Certate again.

Re: 23 Airity coming soon
Is this successor to 21 Luvias Airity or 20 Airity? Are those 2 separate model lines or different generations of one product? From what it looks like, they are dumping the Chinese line of Airity since it and the Luvias were basically the same reel. Then they are moving the new Airity to be a succes...

Re: Project t—steez A II
The only problem there is while you might be able to mill the frame for a 34mm spool, it will still be narrower than the other 34mm spools. It would defeat the purpose to even try that if they have to widen the reel to fit into the 34mm spool family. They alphas tw has a deep 32mm spool so there’s r...

Re: Steez CT SV 70 vs Alphas CT SV 70
I don’t think that’s too bad to get a sv spool on the pixy. When I find another pixy I want I’ll definitely give it a try. Thank you for the knowledge folks.

Re: Steez CT SV 70 vs Alphas CT SV 70
Throw a CT spool in a Pixy https://i.imgur.com/PgiTCbA.jpg Where do you source the spacers to make a ct spool fit? Not to speak out of turn, but there's a lot of parts other than spacers needed to make this happen. I forget all of them but you need the longer Alphas CT pinion which I think you can ...

Re: Daiwa Exist 22
Luvias airity is an exceptional reel. I love mine, don’t have the exist lt but it is definitely nicer than my 15 exist. Also a huge upgrade over my 14 presso and stradic fl.

Re: Daiwa Exist 22
Overpaying a ton because you assume the warranty is needed is not how i personally would be spending my money. Let's not forget you're only "overpaying" the difference between JDM and USDM prices - which is about $160ish. So for an extra 160 bucks, that's 5 years of free expedited service/cleanings...

Re: Daysprout DSLT-2000SS
Does anybody know any info or have this reel? I see it was supposed to be released in late January but I haven’t seen any pre order links anywhere. According to Lurenews, it’s 2 steps above the previous Daysprout reel and is more for “experienced anglers”. Anybody know what reel it’s based on? I ju...
Re: Stella 22
does anyone know of anywhere the old stella is on sale? I don’t see a sale happening, as not many places even have what is now the old stock in stock. Reels on tackle warehouse have been listed as “no back order” for a while. Which to me indicates that the big brands don’t plan on a discount on out...
