Re: Using Tin to pour jig heads

Bassmaster Elite angler Bernie Schultz has talked about this before- he uses tin jig heads for smallmouth and in some saltwater as it keeps the baits higher in the water column.

Electric JJF12- removable eyecups which block sunlight and reduce glare.

Re: ICAST 21 Buzz?

Not at ICAST I believe but Picasso Lures just came out with a bunch of new stuff designed by Aaron Martens. Some new chatterbaits with carbon fiber, circuit board, and different shaped blades. They also refined a Flipping Jig AMart has been pouring for years. That guy is so OCD with his gear that I ...

Tour Versatile or X4 Mat Bucker. If you're looking for versatility I wouldn't go for Megabass though.

Re: Spinning rod for bubba drop shot

The Megabass T.S Destroyer "775" might be worth looking at too- might be a little stiff if you still intend on using light line.

Re: Vibration analysis between '20 Met and '21 Zillion

THIS! I've been wanting to do a test similar to this as I also was skeptical about the whole "magnesium body transmitting more vibrations"- I was also curious about the one-piece frame that Shimano offers as they claim it should increase sensitivity. I have been having trouble detecting slack line b...

Re: 21 Levante Jerkbait Special or Orochi Black Elseil

I havent used the JB Special but I have used the X4 Black Elseil, I personally think the handle and the rod are too long for my style but the action of the rod is perfect for jerkbaits. If you find it comfortable you should have no issues.

Re: Megabass 100 Jr. Pro Blue NY NJ CT PA

I have caught fish in CT with both the Pro Blue and Elegy Bone. That said I have done better with other colors. I am from PA and don't get to fish in CT much if that helps with perspective.

Re: Swim Jig Rod Suggestion

The P5 Dark Sleeper is a sweet finesse/light wire swim jig rod... On a more modest budget, but a LOT of rod for the money, the Daiwa Kage 7'1"MXF is a great light swim jig (among other things) rod as well. That entire Kage line is impressive actually... Hmmm you got me thinking with the P5 darkslee...

Re: Swim Jig Rod Suggestion

GLX/NRX MBR 843 would be a good choice if you are open to something outside of Mb. The Orichi XX EMTF gen 1 rod is a good 3/8 oz swim jig rod for what you describe but it is longer in length Definitely leaning toward the 843 MBR- do you have experience with either the GLX or NRX? I have a Gen 1 Lev...

Re: Swim Jig Rod Suggestion

Another thing I failed to mention is that the jig I am using has a thin wire hook and I don't have a need to drive the hook home or pull fish out of heavy cover which is why I am leaning toward a more medium powered stick versus your traditional swim jig rods (medium-heavy to heavy). The Diablo Fas...

Re: Swim Jig Rod Suggestion

I forgot to mention I am throwing a thin wire hook swim jig exclusively- I think a fast taper would be that sweet spot to where I can feel that slack line tick. I am not fishing around stuff that I really need to wrench them out of just steer them around so I dont think I need the XF taper. What st...
