Re: what swim bait head are you using?

I've tried so flippin many and now I'm sticking to one. Picasso smart mouth Gamakatsu Picasso heads for the win. I use the #1 on 2.8" and 3" baits, the 2/0 on 3.3", the 4/0 on 4.8"s. I might be wrong about the last, could be 5/0 in the Gamakatsu version because they run a tad bi...

Re: New squarebill combo

Thanks to Gary from the tackletrap, I received this Megabass Destroyer Javelin and paired it up with my 8.1:1 Steez A TW. It's very purdy. Xhs steez a was bought from digitaka for an awesome price too. Very good looking reel/rod!!! I am checking out the Steez A from that same website at the moment,...

Re: Steez A Question

Don't mean to rehash an older thread here, but it is better than making a new one... Had a new thought... What about putting a Steez A spool into a Zillion SV TW? I am really considering ordering a Steez A XH from Japan, they are at a good price and I am assuming that is the best way to feel the new...

Re: How fast is too fast?

Braking system is their Inifni Brake System which means it has both centrifugal and magnetic brakes.. Doesn't take much to convert to IVCB braking. :big grin: New spool, new sideplate. Or if removable take off the magnetic wheel on spool and basic centrifugal brakes to replace with the IVCB setup. ...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)

Also just watched the most recent Project T 2018 video... Some of the scenes show the Tatula 100 with the black lock plate on the handle nut and then the other scenes show the ultra tacky plastic one. The end picture with the top view ALWAYS shows the plastic nut cover though, and so do the product...

Re: ICAST 2018 Quick Hits : New HIGH END UL rods from St. Croix

loving these, not crazy about the reel seat but not a deal breaker, those guides are killer. i have 3 of the regular legend elites (2 6'10" mlxf and a 6'3" mlxf) and love these rods. ill likely add either the 6'4" LXF or the 6'9" LXF. I've looked at St. Croix for an extra Light ...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)

K that makes sense. Well if they phase out the Zillion it had a good run but I would still be sad. If I was running that show (I know money is all that matters to most) I would like to produce off of old namesakes. The Tatula's are great, but there is a reason I always have gone Zillion. Dual pinio...

Re: Metanium MGL/silent tune - spool shaft

Yes and No. For Shimano currently, the tip of that shaft controls the cast control tension. It is smoothed off and the tighter you turn cast control cap, the tighter it gets on the end of that shaft. Daiwa did away with that shaft because the spool already floats on 2 bearings and they use a plastic...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)

I'd rather they not make a Zillion out of this new tatula and I wish Daiwa would kill off the old box Tatulas. I don't want to look at a Zillion and see a Tatula. I also believe Zillions should be butter smooth 8oz tanks. Maybe they can use the old Tatula Zillion platform like with the new Zillion ...

Re: zillion 50th or type r vs steeze A

I can only comment on the Steez A and light lures. The standard spool is good (with an adequate rod) for around 3/8oz lures. If you want to use lighter lures swap the spool (as I did) and you can easily throw 1/4 oz lures. Amazing reel. Fits well in the hand, super smooth and relatively light. What...

Re: Lew's Tournament Pro - icast

I am still not sure about the pinion's support. I wonder if they have single support and a different design/location or true dual support like Shimano's X-Ship and Daiwa Free floating spools... I really hope it is a dual supported pinion, this would be a huge step for Lew's reels. Would like to use ...
