Re: Tatula knobs with carbon handle on ryoga 1016 L!!!

Hope the OP is still around. Have to revive this thread to ask you a question. Looked all over Hedgehog and can't find their brand carbon handle. The only carbon cranks I find are the questionable $20 Ebay joints, or the $100+ official Daiwa ones. If anyone has some intel on where to get a high qua...

Re: Zpi Nrc001-PG

I'm sure the Zillion SV TW will outcast the Steez SV103. The spool in the Zillion has a smaller rotor, even more so than the Steez SV TW rotor. Put the Zillion spool in his Steez and get ready :big grin: Wish I could buy a second, I called Daiwa after TackleTrap and they said the same thing... Sold...

Re: Zpi Nrc001-PG

I am in a similar issue hunting for an SS/SV spool. I am so tired of waiting for another Zillion SV TW spool, that I am tempted to order an Aliexpress DIY deep spool for the ZillionSV/103/etc. reels and putting it in the SS/SV. I honestly think the Steez SV TW spool out shines the Zillion SV TW spo...

Re: Okuma Cal's Grease

Yes it is the same exact Cal's Grease. I work for Okuma and we have had a great relationship with Cal for a long time. He helped with the engineering of the Makaira reel line and since all our saltwater reels use Cal's drag grease we were granted permission to re-package his grease. Thank you, I kn...

Re: 13 Fishing Concept Z

I'm very interested to see how they turn out. I am at times skeptical of new tech, but starting to come around to new innovations. The only 13 fishing reels I have been around are the Concept C (friend owned on a deep crank rod) and it would absolutely dump the spool with a 6XD.

Re: Lews Tournament Pro G LFS gears

From their website, high strength aluminum gears & driveshaft. I can't find it. I tried the site and had to make a guess. Makes sense though if they are aluminum, I think many of their reels have to be to achieve less weight. For some reason I never found that though. Scratch that, found the in...

Re: Over-Braked Daiwa's

I feel it isn't as free as the Zillion SV but, it doesn't feel so overbraked that it is useless. I had a positive experience with it. The price can't be beat. Here is a video on the water I did. It is part of a 4 part series I did on the reel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYBZYptMdww&t=745 A...

Over-Braked Daiwa's

Simple question, is the Tatula SV overbraked? I love my 2 Zillion SV TW's and they are definitely not over braked for my fishing needs, but I really don't want to spend for another expensive reel for my 6'6" Avid X. I don't want a junker, but I don't need a Steez either. My Zillion SV TW's are ...

Re: Backing rule of thumb?

I spool the whole spool with fluorocarbon. Then when I finally start to run low or it gets worn out, I cut off the bad then top the spool with mono or cheap/old braid. Then I unspool to a empty line spool, hand spool to another, then put back on my reel so that it is 100% full and then untouched goo...

Re: Reel Boxes

I keep the box on EVERY reel. Keep the receipt, papers, and any original parts (from customizing/upgrading) in tiny ziploc's and leave them all in the box. Seemed to help me sell my Lew's BB1 Pro and Revo Winch.

Re: Metanium mgl vs chronarch mgl thread

so is anyone actually using a Met MGL as a crankbait reel that can tell me if you like it and what speed you like. That we can upgrade them to brass is great!!!! Cranks for me are MOSTLY Lipless cranks and shallow divers like the Lure Jenson Speed trap. I don't throw DD22's often where I fish most ...

Re: Quantum Tour MG 100 vs Team Lew's Hyper Mag Speed Spool SLP

Lew's for sure, great customer service, overall great company. Don't mean to be a Quantum hater, I'm sure they have some winners too, but from personal experience (friend's owning more than a few) I haven't heard the best stories. Fished a buddies Quantum a few years back before I got big into fishi...
