If I get one, I will be using 7lb FC. Might even step down to 6lb or 5lb. I am just hoping the aluminum gears hold up well. Time will tell if the 2021 teir 1 micro brass gears will fit in the BFS model, or if it is even necessary.

Might have missed it, but I am wondering if the reel can function when the battery is dead. Is there any braking at all?
