Re: 21 Calcutta Conquest 100HG pinion replacement
I sure hope that is a mistake. Especially because the 24 Shallow Edition shares the same pinion. I think the Antares uses the same main and pinion also. same main, different pinion for the antares which is pretty common in shimano reels. for example the 2012 antares maingear has been used in the 20...

Re: Ticking Sound-Stradic FM
Since you mentioned it above, I have and love love love my Gekkabijin X. It has quickly become my favorite eggbeater. I have it on a 2 pc ML rod that stays in the xterra. I've used it extensively, and I've caught some 4-6# fish with it. I have zero complaints, and it is still as smooth as day one. ...

Re: Ticking Sound-Stradic FM
So the retailer said they would take it back, posted them the youtube video where they could hear it. Said I would get a full refund as soon as I send it, question is now, what do I get? I really liked the FM, but it is barely different than the FL to me. Hoping if I grab another I go with the 2500S...

Re: Ticking Sound-Stradic FM
I would be close to keeping it. Took it off the rod last night, me and the wife had been testing it in hand. Occasionally I cannot get the reel to make the tick. Other times, it sounds worse than it does in the video and is very persistent. Wife gets the same results, tick comes and goes. I will say...

Re: Ticking Sound-Stradic FM
I just received a JDM Stradic FM (2000 size, 6:1 ratio). It has no ticks, and I can't advise you on that. I do have a question for anyone with the new Stradic FM: Do you find its startup inertia to be greater than you expected? I sure do on mine. My larger (2500 size), years-old Stradic Ci4+ requir...

Ticking Sound-Stradic FM
Just got in a new Stradic FM. The reel is ticking persistently. It is a JDM reel, wondering if I should send it back or something I can do. If you turn the handle hard and fast, the sound stops. The reel feels exceptionally smooth, just has a tick. Seems like the tick happens in the same spot every ...

Re: Bantam A Wrong Handle
I'm speaking from experience since I've bought quite a few 18 and 22 Bantam XG handle assembly from Shimano. I use them to upgrade the stock handles on all of my reels. 18 and 22 Bantam 150 and 150HG comes with 84MM handles. 18 and 22 Bantam XG comes with 90MM handles. Chronarch MGL 6 gear and 7 ge...

Re: Bantam A Wrong Handle
Man I feel so dumb now. I swore I had asked a while back and thought that was just the JDM models. I know my Chronarch MGL had a 90mm (7.1) and the HG model had a 96mm. I am not sure what to do now, the 90mm version of the Bantam A is sold out until December...

Bantam A Wrong Handle
So I ordered a USDM handle from Shimano, for the HG version of the Bantam. I had asked on here a while back what the sizes were and was pretty sure I was universally told that the HG version had a 90mm handle and the XG had a 96mm. This is what at least I thought people said or maybe I am lost. Eith...

Re: Shimano Aldebaran BFS XG Limited ci4
Looking for my first BFS reel for ned rigging pretty good sized largemouth bass. Would this reel be recommended for that? I would also agree to go with the newer model. I will say though that the Aldebaran (probably the older one mentioned too) is more capable of much lighter lures than mentioned. ...
