Re: JDM Calcutta Conquest for Finesse - The Calcutta Conquest BFS
If I get one, I will be using 7lb FC. Might even step down to 6lb or 5lb. I am just hoping the aluminum gears hold up well. Time will tell if the 2021 teir 1 micro brass gears will fit in the BFS model, or if it is even necessary.

Re: Daiwa Embraces IoT With New Bluetooth Equipped IM Z LIMITBREAKER Baitcaster
Might have missed it, but I am wondering if the reel can function when the battery is dead. Is there any braking at all? Would be nice if they make a non-electronic version that could spool swap with this one. Again, I have no idea what is coming or what is even possible so just thoughts. I just hop...

Re: Lew's Enters Enthusiast Segment With New Elite Series
I feel bad to always call them out on this, but the P2 bearing supported pinion is off. It has single support. When engaged a bearing from the spool supports the pinion too. They are calling this dual support, but I am pretty sure most reels already do this. Shimano's X-Ship would actually have 3 b...

Re: Soft Steel's Manageable Fluorocarbon Line, Instinct FC
Deformity is the measure of how much the line remains stretched after the load is removed. Deformity is an underrated statistic. Obviously braid does best in this aspect, would assume fluorocarbon or certain mono/copolymers are worst. I notice some of the better, thicker, stiffer fluorocarbons scor...

Re: An Introduction to the Bait Finesse System (BFS) and Recommended Tackle
Nice job, HWK! Thank you. I got a lot of info from this forum and the main site. Glad to be able to share some of the BFS knowledge I acquired over the last 10 plus years. More articles to come. Great job, good stuff. I like doing reviews on here and still keep my fingers crossed I can find my way ...

Re: Appreciating all of the Curves, Edges, Perfect Imperfections of Shimano's 2021 Conquest
I know this is a bit late, but I got confused reading this review. Everything was great as always, but I am confused by the 13+1 bearing count... Where is the 14th bearing at? I know this much: 2 per knob (4 total), 2 main shaft, 2 pinion, 2 spool, 2 levelwind, and one roller bearing. That is 13 an...

Re: A Quality FC Line from Hi-Seas : 100% Fluorocarbon
Their Quattro camo fluoro is even better. One of the lines I push hardest to others. It is a bit thick compared to others, but the 10lb works great in the place of 12lb other brands (like InvizX or Sniper). I have also used the 12lb in situations where I would normally use 15lb for jigs, chatters, m...

Re: A Closer Look at Lew's Best Seller, the Speed Spool LFS
Good review, I looked and looked to try and find more about their P2 bearing support. From what I found, it isn't quite the same as Shimano's X-ship or Daiwa's Free Floating spool design. For Shimano/Daiwa, the pinion is on 2 exclusive bearings and the spool is on 2. For Lew's, there are still 3 tot...

Re: Exclusive First Look at the New Shimano SLX Series Reels and Rods
Not looking as good so far Daiwa. These CG80 reels better be nicer than they look. I would take VBS over a linear magnetic system any day. Other thing about this SLX is it seems to have Curado K style knobs and handle... I am assuming the SLX has 5 bearings (2 spool, 1 pinion, 1 main gear, 1 anti-re...

Re: Shimano's Fully Machined BFS Masterpiece
I'm surprised you didn't mention the clicky drag..... I've found it to be a spectacular feature. You can really dial in how much pressure your putting on light line by the feel. The sound isn't all that important but you can feel the detents on the drag as you wind against the drag. Which is an inc...

Re: Daiwa’s SV TW Baitcaster – A Winning Combination!
Good review, I am excited and still hoping for a Zillion SV TW versus Chronarch MGL shootout... The only thing I have noticed is the spool is a little "choked" on the Tatula SV versus others. Just an off topic question... Are there plans to test the new Daiwa spinning offerings when they s...

Re: First Look Inside the New Shimano Curado K Series Baitcasters
I wouldn't think so. The Chronarch MGL doesn't, so I figure the model below it won't have that feature either...Markanthony404 wrote:Does anyone know if the cast control knob clicks?

Re: TackleTour Exclusive: On the Water with the New G.Loomis Conquest Rod Series
Amazing looking rods. I am very confused though and embarrassed. I thought Bantam1 was a shorter Asian guy. Not sure where I got that from. I just assumed import tackle maybe he was overseas somewhere. That's what I get for fisherman stereotyping... Any friends I have overseas would really laugh at ...
