Re: Abu Garcia WTF's

Anyone tried the new Gen 4 Premier??? Had a friend with a Gen 3 that he swore casted everything (down to an 1/8) pretty good...

Re: Looking for a low cost ML casting rod

I use a TFO dropshot rod (6'9" ML), I paid like $120, they list for like $160 or something, it's been an amazing rod, cork has held strong, etc. Pretty sensitive too. Just really hard to find. At one point they even made a 6'3" Light casting rod, god I wish I had bought one.

Re: 13 fishing concept reels

Used a friend's extra 7'6" cranking setup for a few days fishing, it had the 6 speed Concept C on it. With 14lb FC Sniper it would almost dump the spool, actually casted very well once adjusted properly. Now with wind or changing lure size it is definitely not as top tier or easy as Shimano/Dai...

Re: Frog Reel search

What does the SV do or not due? Do they both have a brass gear? I better do some searching now. Either Zillion TWS (1516) or SV TW (1016) would work great. The 7.3 would have a little more torque with plenty speed (32 inches per turn) to drag them out of cover. The main question I would ask is if t...

Re: Metanium MGL Issue

What line are you using versus the other setups? Are these results with the same rods? I honestly like fishing my Chronarch MGL with all 4 tabs on and a low setting on the 1-6 Dial with a tighter tension knob setting. I cast A LOT though, guarantee my cast to catch ratio is horrible compared to some...

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's

Revo is a good reel. Call it OEM all day long. Call it a Korea reel all day long. Revo is the Honey Badger of reels. It don't care. If you screw it up, Abu send you a new one. Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3, Gen 4. Solid. I sold off my Abu baitcasters, but I am on your side, they have AMAZING customer service...

Re: Rod for Bantam (MH)

I would look at the Fantasista Regista from sierra trading post, or the Orochi XX from Tackle Trap. If you can get a $300-$500 rod for $199, you'll be getting more for your money. A lot of places have the Megabass Levante on sale as well. That's a good rod, especially at a sale price. I have a Cura...

Re: New Ald 30mgl

Any idea the spool is interswappable with the aldebaran 50? It would be great if there is a aftermarket bfs spool for the the mgl 30. Would have to change the sideplate also to go from Aldebaran 50 to 30(MGL) even if spools were compatible. Doubt the Aldebaran 30 MGL will get an aftermarket, its so...

Re: Rod for Bantam (MH)

Curado 7'2"MH ($160), just don't know the feel of these, specs are right on for what I need. Zodias 7'2"MH price I can get a little lower, just rated for slightly heavier lures, also never felt the action. I've fished most of the Zodias rods, have only wiggled the Curados at the store...b...

Re: Rod for Bantam (MH)

Check out either the original Tatula line or the Elite line. Great rods for the money. This. Look around and you might even score a Zillion. Yea I heard the Zillion rods can be found cheap. Do most all of these hold up and have fair warranties? I have yet to send off my higher end rods, and the few...

Re: New Ald 30mgl

Had a few days off, been putting it to the test. These things cast amazing. I have been jerk bait fishing in some pretty steady strong wind. These cast at least 25% better than the last version. Now if the fish would turn on in my part of the world :( Watched a video where a guy had an original Ald...

Rod for Bantam (MH)

So I got a decent raise at work, along with a few other job opportunities and just slightly better financial standing, so I figure I would use my change, fishing fund, etc. for a new reel... Probably going to try out the Bantam MGL XG, as soon as a better deal is available, even if not, I will proba...

Thanks, that's what I figured. I also figure if I was to get the Bantam MGL I would go ahead with the XG anyways, kind of wishing my Chronarch MGL was an XG now.

Re: Have top water rods changed?

Topwater is a make shift rare technique for me. I use a 6'6" Avid X for topwater though, either with 12-15 mono or 30lb braid with same mono leader (short 1ft leader to prevent tangles). I also like using a 7'Medium, fast jig/worm style rod and have used a 7'Medium, moderate cranking rod also. ...
