Re: 2018 shimano leaks

That bantam look like it’s going to be a fun reel to own... Kinda like an SV103 in that tough rugged factor (maybe more so because of the solid non-sideplate aluminum frame), keeps the lightweight MGL spool, Micro Mod for even more durability, hopefully tougher paint finish that a Metanium, yeah th...

Re: Is BFS and ultralight baitcasting the same?

I would say that BFS and UL baitcasting are similar to me in some areas depending on lures, line, rods, etc. I use a ML rod with fluorocarbon (under 8lb) and an SV105 for a ton a Bait Finesse presentations. 1/8 road runners, 1/16 jigs with tiny Keitechs, dropshots, darter heads, ned rigs, etc. It is...

Re: Looking for a new jerkbait rod

I've been using a 13 Fishing 6'3" MHF original Omen for 1/2oz jerkbaits and I've really liked it for its length and ability to throw that weight as far as I need to. Thing is, I use braid with a leader and there were times where no matter how little I moved the rod, it moved the lure more than...

Well damn, but you did just sell a second Chronarch MGL, XG this time. That statement alone probably has me pulling the trigger. Really wanna wait for a Bantam though...

Re: 2018 shimano leaks

MGL is Magnumlite. Lightweight spool for reduced start up inertia. The spool diameters may have base sizes like 30, 32, 34mm but they will vary slightly from reel to reel. The spool size is close, but not exactly the same. 150 sizing is a standardized line capacity for our reels now. Any 150 size r...

Re: New 2018 Stella FJ and Bantam MGL

So the Bantam MGL IS coming to the US market??? Also, does it run the same spool size as the Chronarch MGL or is it deeper??? I hope it stays smaller, would love to throw little lures with a tank of a reel, especially for those hard running smallmouth that love little Keitechs. Other models coming o...

Re: Shakey head preferences

The basic Owner heads with the CPS spring in the lead, Owner Shakey Ultraheads. I am torn on screw lock versus jigheads also. I use the Owner Ultrahead Finesse Ball Heads too, and add my own big shrink wrap barb. The Gambler Giggy heads aren't so bad either (screw locks), the new Aaron Martens Rhino...

So is the Bantam MGL spool like that of the Chronarch MGL? Initial reports listed it as being slightly bigger and deeper...

Re: Rapala X Rap

They are all pretty good baits, I like the suspending ones. I am not sure what size I use most, but I have more than a few in my jerkbait/spybait box though. Bought a bunch of them when I did more lure shopping at Wal-Mart and local small shops.

Is the stock spool not pretty well compared to either of those options??? I know and assume those two are better but I really wonder by how much... That ZPI just keeps getting talked about more and more though...

Re: Spinning Reel Spool Size

I'm also in the market for a new spinning reel. Mainly to replace a much heavier spinning reel with a lightweight one. I'm stuck between the Stradic ci4, Tatula LT, and Ballistic LT. I have the older stradic ci4FA which I love due to it being light. I'm leaning more toward the Tatula LT, but been r...

What a game, I work at a nursing home, and always happen to be in the same patient's room for awesome game endings. Was also watching with the same person during the "kick six" Alabama/Auburn game.

Re: Daiwa Tatula HD 153 size

Wonder if a 150 spool could or would replace the HD spool. Only downfall to my Tatula HD is that dang fixed inductor, even though it seems fine for now as a deep cranking/chatterbait reel... You mean if a 153 spool can fit into the original HD reel? Daiwa lists them both as 36mm spool, so im guessi...

Re: Learn From My Mistake

No I was just taking out the Zillion TWS bearings to clean them. Acetone, let dry, new oil, reassemble. My Zillion SV TW spool I ordered already came with bearing installed. Only reason I take them off is to clean them.
