Re: ICAST 2019

Maybe, maybe... concerning the Zillions that is. I just don't know what will happen though, because they upped the Steez A to $500 and now they have a super premium priced Steez CT SV. I feel like that frame size will be the next front running tech Daiwa pushes. I just don't know if they'd offer bra...

Re: ICAST 2019

I know Daiwa has multiple new models to debut. I'm excited to see them and try them out. Yes indeed. I've fished quite a few of the new introductions, good stuff coming for sure from our Daiwa friends =D> Spinning? Casting? Or both? Just like another post said, I don't have a clue what is coming, t...

Re: Tatula CT gear, interchangeable with larger/OG tatula and similar bodies

I actually tried changing out a Tatula SV XS and a Zillion SV HS because I wanted a faster Zillion before actually buying the 9.1:1 gear set, and the pinion gear for a Zillion SV is different than a Tatula SV. The top of the pinion on a Zillion SV is designed to go up into what is the spool bearing...

Re: Yumeya Bantam MGL Shallow Spool

I had seen one for a long time but never pulled the trigger I said why not tonight Butt the butt cheeks slapping together like at a twerking contest is a reaction innovations sales line if they came out with a similar lure as the DoLive. I have a package that is small and haven’t opened it up yet. ...

Re: Thumb bar not resetting when cranking handle

Also depends which 3 reels you are talking about. If they are all older with decent wear (or an angler rough on gear), it isn't THAT uncommon of a problem. I have only had 1 reel ever do that, my gen 3 Revo Winch. My Winch did it almost every cast, I broke it down, cleaned it good, and sold it. The ...

Re: What have you gotten back fishing?

Good stories so far, I know there are a ton out there. Once fishing at Lake Dardanelle with friend he decided to go under a barrier to retrieve an A-rig. He left me on the front of the boat and said just grab it fast once we get up there. There were actually 2 barriers/buoys, one we had to go under,...

Re: ICAST 2019

I don't hate the TWS system on Daiwa reels, I have never have an issue with it going bad, aside from scratching a generation one Tatula Type R's and that was MY mistake. I think it is plenty solid on the Steez level reels and works fine, even though there isn't a major performance gain. This all sai...

What have you gotten back fishing?

There was an interesting thread about beloved items lost while fishing, so I figured I would ask about what things people have retrieved. I swam on a hot summer day once to get a good crank, local clear clean lake though, the crank was stuck just about 6ft down. I also used to push really hard to ge...

Re: Is the Steez SV TW currently the best low profile bass reel on the market?

Bit surprised no one voted for the met mgl. Always thought it was very popular in here. He rigged it! (kidding) :big grin: Just goes to show that forums do not match the overall national tackle market. Reality and forums are miles apart! For example, here you find most people who post are enthusias...

Re: RaGe vs. Spicy beaver

The new RI Spicy Beaver looks to be a winner. The hinges look huge on the "claws". I wasn't really impressed ever with the Kinky Beaver though, have done fine with it on a swinging FB jighead, but still none compare to Biffle Bugs for me. I don't know why, but they out fish most creatures for me, ma...

Re: Lew's Tournament Pro - icast

Figured this was the case, and thanks for the schematic, 155 would need to be a bearing to be true dual pinion support like Shimano uses for X-ship or Daiwa uses for free floaters. This still works and the bushing at 155 helps, but having smooth rotating metal there can really help gear life and ali...

Re: Lew's Tournament Pro - icast

I'd still like to see a schematic and see if they went with a true style dual support or however they did it.

Re: Differences w/ Chronarch G vs MGL??

They cast pretty similar except the fact that the MGL spool is a few grams lighter so it can cast lighter lures. I have actually been very impressed with the MGL's finesse ability. The G has the same braking system and a slightly heavier spool, but that is mainly attributed to a metal considered mo...
