Re: Pick one Lose Two
Oh man; so sorry to hear. I’m diving every time though. Usually takes a minute for a combo to sink. If you have cork handles, they can even float a bit. Where are you fishing in FL where it’s deep? Most lakes around my ways are fairly shallow with deeps spots here and there. I have a pair of glasses...

Re: Tulala Monstruo 71
Intriguing rod, but those untrimmed threads on the reel seat make me cringe. It’s hard to deny that there’s a certain amount of ugly on most (not all) Tulala offerings. It’s their style. For me it sort of works like the way a fox body mustang does it for some. That touch of ugly even seems to persi...

Re: JDM Site Missing Evergreen Brand
I noticed the same thing but with a different site a couple days ago. Suddenly there was no evergreen on shim reels. Not one of the main steam sites, but it always had a great EG selection. Was bummed. Seems strange if this would be related, but for what it’s worth.

The white python II coming out after this one looks pretty cool too. They kind of modernized the locknut and rear portion of the handle for a mix of new and old. Fun idea for sure.

Re: Tulala Monstruo 71
Tulala obviously does not get alot of play around here. Maybe is has somthing to do with a squirrel busting a nut as it's moniker, or the aforementioned rod weight Very overlooked rod builder/brand amongst US enthusiasts, imo. I don't have the rod you mentioned, but I have the Harmonix Staccato 78 ...

Re: Do you plan on buying the iPhone of reels aka the Z Limitbreaker?
I voted yes. Eventually. Why? My addiction to tackle is real. I’m a sucker. And although I discovered the Z only after the later release of the ‘limited’ models, I really took to the platform. Also, since I’ve expressed skepticism about downloadable upgrades doing squat, I figure i should see for my...

Re: Daiwa limitbreaker
Yeah looks like their version of dc which can connect to an app on the phone. Not sure what all you can do on the app though. I also spied via catalog a listed price 125k yen. Might be an unpopular opinion, but I’m not too keen on using a phone to do anything to a reel on the water. Guess I should ...

Daiwa limitbreaker
I don’t understand what this is yet. Magforce connected to some intelligent daiwa version of DC? Connecting the reel to a smartphone? Maybe I’m interpreting the YouTube incorrectly. I look forward to being educated

Re: Daiwa Pixy vs BFS
BFS is a mindset unable to be defined by measurables. One must look inside one's self to determine the best tool for the job. I suggest fasting to rid yourself of worldly toxins that can interfere with this introspective deep dive within yourself. Place some senkos on a candle warmer. Soak yourself...

Re: Every new Abu looking the same is incredibly dull and boring
I wish they'd bring back the Morrum. An updated ZX 1600 Mag with a high speed offset gearbox would be awesome. Pure Fishing has pretty much been saying no to anything Sweden made outside of 5500/6500 rehashes. They feel the future is in the Revo :( I’m not sure how much Pure fishing even can do to ...

Re: Every new Abu looking the same is incredibly dull and boring
Haven't seen the new Beast series yet, but yeah, that's the standard practice for them - one frame per family with internal upgrades As far as I know, 2023 equals a refresh for Revo and the availability of Zenon with Zenon replacing the Revo MG-X and MGXtreme (two reels that formerly shared the Rev...

Re: Every new Abu looking the same is incredibly dull and boring
Oh i am not just referring to revos, but the whole line up. Do they even have more than one frame for every reel they have? Re: G-nius Project
Pure fishing/Abu dropped Katsutaki Imae’s sponsorship after years of sponsoring him. Hence, he’s fishing/modding/selling ‘genius’ reels now instead of abus. Happens all the time in our tournament trials here in the US. The slight difference is that his relationship with abu had been really long last...

Increased costs for long tubes from Japan
I just read that one of the more popular Japanese online sellers is pretty significantly increasing (3.5 x) their shipping charges for rods that require tubes 122cm in January. They are basically reacting to an increase in Fedex pricing and higher fuel costs. Hint if you want to read about it—they a...
