Re: Making Conquests Lighter

Here’s a pic of the grips. Turned out perfect after a little sanding. Might wrap some thread up to the cork, but haven’t decided yet. https://i.postimg.cc/Y9nRbsF4/F682-DEFD-4018-45-DF-B515-D42515-EB9314.jpg Here’s a pic of the difference between factory Conquest guides and the new guides(NRX 843 w...

Dranckrazy X Tulala Gargoyle 6.9. The monkey has conquered me again. I have had one outing with it throwing scottboro swinbaits on flashy swimmers. It has true medium fast taper. The lightest I've gone is 3/8 oz and up to 1 oz. I am able to launch baits from a sitting position in yak at this weight...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Wow; nice trout. I was able to get myself into a couple schools one morning this past week on a beach. I'm a total novice in salt water. I was able to land a few of these. Different size class, but I was about as excited as a 12 year old. :big grin: Very nice =D> Getting into some schools is a lot ...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

These big Speckled trout are completely different animals than the smaller ones. This gator and her equally large buddy followed a hooked redfish at the start of the day, so I ended up staying and fishing through the area two more times. Next time through, they followed the lure to the kayak and sw...

Re: Steez racing design guys

I only have one so far, but my experience mirrors others above. I prefer my rd hustler to every other high or low end rod I own including gamakatsu oltre, evergreen gt series, conquest. I equally love my other rods, but nothing I’ve owned feels quite like the RD for me.

They don't work here in central Florida. I have spent a long time trying to find out.

I should know better than getting baited by this. Pros? Buddy Gross won Toho this year and all he did was throw a 6 inch swimbait on an owner beast all day long.

I live in south Florida and use the big swimbaits from California. They catch big fish here year round.
Likewise; I clean up POLK county Fl year round with big swimbaits using the rod selections I mentioned above—ie long and heavy.

Re: Swimbait rod

It will depend on size of swimbait. But right now 7.4, regular fast, all carbon, and I’d say it’s somewhere between heavy and extra heavy in the backbone but with good flex in the tip. I’ll also go with a 7.6, heavy, regular, carbon that’s pretty stiff all around or a 7.1, heavy, med-fast, carbon-gl...

Re: What are your thoughts and experiences

A lot of JDM rods are designed with versatility in mind. Over there a 6'6" regular to regular fast, medium to medium heavy stick is king, it seems. I'm totally on board, too. They have mastered that progressive regular taper that maximizes versatility, castability, and fish fighting prowess without...
