My favorite is a jerkbait and they work well most of the year in the lakes I fish. Spinnerbait is a close second and my go to bait after dark.

You may want to look at the 13 Envy spinning rods. Most of them are on sale now under $200 and sometimes much cheaper then that. I have a 7'1" M and a 7'1" MH and the medium could be a good fit for you. I admit I'm more of a power fisherman so my feel for rod sensitivity may not be as good as others...

I prefer St. Croix Rods. I like that they are made in America except their lower priced rods. They also have a wide selection that are comfortable to fish with and have yet to fail me durability wise.

I have a couple Envy spinning rods and think you should be happy with the sensitivity of them for the sale price of $150. I have not fished a Powell rod for comparison though. I just purchased my first Ci4+ and it is quite nice but like the previous post said, spend more on the rod especially for li...

I just purchased both these rods in the last month and have a stradic 2500 fk on both. I think they are very nice but have limited trips with both. I think the handle is comfortable and I like the shorter butt section on my rods. The guide spacing and style is good as well as there is less line slap...
