Re: Zillion sv TW 1000

I must be super hard on my reels because even my Bantam MGL and Curado 71 MGL gears have a slight buzz to them. One of my Mets got a little buzzy after its first year of usage on all kinds of different baits. I sent it off to Dan Isaac and he said it wasn't the gear. It was ball bearing PN# BNT3927...

Re: Need input on IMX-PRO 843S SJR

Are you referring to the pro blue models or the fresh water? Not many reviews on either. I just purchased some inshore rods this week. Ended up going with shimano and e6x but the pro blue looks nice. Wish there were more models. Inshore in general could use more options in general. I’m asking about...

Need input on IMX-PRO 843S SJR

I am considering the 843S for a light-medium inshore spinning combo, but I can’t find any comments on this particular model, and very little on the IMX-PRO lineup In general. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sunline asegai line diameter

The Asegai 50lb is one of the thickest I have used. Consistently Spooled a Chronarch 151 on a frog rod, had to switch back to 50lb Performance Braid to prevent spooling. That reel holds 75yds of the PB, nowhere near that on the Asegai. I was able to use the rest of the Asegai spool on a 201K throwin...

how closely? because there's a 6ft social distancing rule
My problem is that lately the fish have been social distancing from my bait! ☹️

Re: How long does braid last

Sounds worn out to me. I use thinner braid than most, 30lb for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits & 1/2 oz jigs on heavy rods, and I replace it or at least reverse it annually on combos that see frequent use. For lighter combos I typically use 10 - 20lb braid. 50lb is reserved for swimbaits up to 2.5 oz. Al...

Re: Do you keep back up reel

My backup reels are reels that have been “retired”. I keep the best ones Cleaned, lubed and spooled, ready to go if needed.

Re: Heavy hard bait rod

If you can source them locally, check out the Megabass Destroyer USA Daemos or the Orochi XX Diablo Spec-R. The Daemos is spec’d a little heavier than the Diablo, and has a stiff tip good for chatterbaits and working big topwaters. Those large topwaters usually come with bigger heavier trebles, so t...

Re: Sunline Asegai low price. Is this legit

Don’t know if it’s legit or not. TW had one of their 1-day specials last spring, 600yd spools for about $54 but that’s the lowest I have ever seen it.

Re: Chronarch CI4+ Chronarch MGL spool swap?

The OG CI4+ braking was both noisy and inconsistent. Braking working fine one minute, then back lashing every cast 2 minutes later. Adjustment range was poor, changed a lot between 1 and 2.5, little change if any between 3 & 6. The upgraded spool & brakes fixed everything. For some reason, the Chron...

Re: Chronarch CI4+ Chronarch MGL spool swap?

I have changed the original side plate assembly’s on both my Chronarch CI4+ reels to the MGL sideplate assembly’s. The side plates themselves are a different color, but will swap perfectly. I can use either the Chronarch G or MGL spools. Expensive, bit a worthwhile conversion in my view. The G spool...

I have used Avail spools for Abu 2nd gen STX and Premier, Abu Amb 4601, and Shimano Curado in the salt and I have not had any issues.
Excellent! Thank you for your response.
