Re: Are we destroying our Gear Sets by pulling out snag?

I use either a small length of dowel with tape wrapped around the middle for grip or this thing:

It really does seem to protect thinner lines very well when I have to break a lure off.

Re: Irod Genesis II

I have a Fred’s and love it. It’s a great multipurpose heavy rod. I would kill for a 6’6” rod with the same power/taper to use as a bushwhacking rod.

Re: '19 Steez ct sv tw

Short and long range casting was great with 1/2oz or so (other weights as well). I talked about testing the reel for short and long range casting, as I made the same point you did that reels can excel in one or the other. One thing, I would use braid if long-casting 1/2oz baits on the regular with ...

Re: '19 Steez ct sv tw

Has anyone tried their CT with heavier lures yet? My all-around pond hoping rod is a 783c and I have tried about 6 reels on it and never found “the one”. The issue I have is that about 1/3 of the time I am casting/pitching a weightless Trickworm (1/4oz) and for another 1/3 of the time I am casting/p...

I got curious and looked, they have a very strange line up of bass rods and I can’t even begin to understand their kayak line.

Re: Reel for MB Destroyer FMJ

I have a Steez SV TW on my FMJ and it makes the combo a little tip heavy. It is, however, crazy light in hand. I stuck a sv103 reel on and it balanced better but felt far heavier. I think the Steez A, being in the middle of those two in weight, would be ideal. I keep going back-and-forth about picki...

Re: Megabass new 3 piece travel rods

 I've already pictured that one up against big lazy summer time bass and dock skipping a Senko with an Exist LT 3000C-XH 8-) I was thinking it would make an ideal "lazy pond-hopping with a fluke or trickworm" sort of rod. Some of my favorite spots are very overgrown and a short but powerful sp...

https://i.imgur.com/f6x28xeh.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/Vzp9B9zh.jpg?1 The reel was like $120, so about the same as the ZPI PG spool I picked up for it. Ordered some dressup parts at the same time because why not. I really want to send it to a tuner but I don't want to part with it now that it's war...

Re: Megabass new 3 piece travel rods

. I'm more excited personally about a few of the new JDM Destroyer Carbon Head models and am as patiently as possible awaiting information and order options for them! Oh baby. https://i.imgur.com/l1NZUefh.jpg I like a short spinning rod with a short butt, hopefully soon there will be more info so I...

Re: Megabass US Destoyer new models added to lineup

I will look into it and see see if they add a chart. Thanks, I think they are helpful, for all the waxing poetic we do about our beloved graphite rods, "seeing" the taper via a graph really adds a lot. I had the opportunity to fish the Otomat prototype and it was impressive. You didn't happen to th...

Re: Megabass US Destoyer new models added to lineup

I grew really, really partial to the Otomat for topwaters. Beat up some warm water power plant fish on it this past winter. The description of the taper is confusing me, is's a R/MF rod but this bit is what is throwing me off "Unlike other models in the Destroyer line, the OTOMAT features a slow ti...

Re: Megabass US Destoyer new models added to lineup

tackle trap has them on the site and they give a brief description on the rod and what it was designed for. I dont think the otomat is a cranking stick it mentions it has a faster action with a soft tip for topwater walking baits, but it does mention it could be used for cranks for those who desire...

Please let the F4.5-71X Otomat not be a cranking stick!
