Thanks everyone else for your opinion, much appreciated.

Re: replacement suggestion

I'm really partial to the Hein. I think it fits in this scenario nicely especially if the Adrena fishes lighter than the stated Medium power and the OP was already very happy with it. The Hein has a very unique taper. It handles 1/2oz hardbaits with a sensation that's really hard to explain when bot...

Re: Crankbait/ChatterBait Rod /w conquest 100

I'm not a fan of glass rods. But I have my Conquest 101HG on a Megabass Black Jungle Shallow Fast Moving Special and it is a beautiful combo. I use it primarily for shallow cranking -- basically 10ft & less. It's a fantastic treble bait rod. Nice moderate action (but not too moderate) with a ver...

Re: Light line leader connection

Modified Albright or "RP" Knot here. I don't have a PHD in knot tying, so I try to keep my knot tying as simple, quick and consistent as I can. Messed around with the FG knot for a little bit, but couldn't justify the time it took me to tie. Also, I was probably doing something wrong becau...

I also decided to put U-40 on my ZBone. No problems here either.

Re: Crankbait reel

The Zillion SV TW is really an underrated caster. Everyone likes to talk about the control of the SV spool and while it definitely possesses that trait...that G1 Duralumin Spool can launch 'em.

Re: Sadly done with Shimano Baitcasters

I absolutely love my Conquest 101HG..easily one of my favorite reels. There's no doubting that both Shimano and Daiwa make the best reels. I actually love both braking systems, but do have more Daiwas. I'm sorry you feel you need to let go of Shimano for good. I don't think I could...

Love mine...casts a mile, feels like a tank. I've used mine for pitching big jigs, throwing frogs, & launching 1-2oz swimbaits.

Re: Comparable rod to x7 super eiger

I'm getting interested in the MB rods, but the terminology is confusing. Is the Hein the same as the Destroyer? I was impressed by the versatility described here, and that's why I'm interested, especially the ability to cast light lures. First there are the different rod series, i.e. 2016 JDM Destr...

Re: Rods without a hook keeper

That's some nice handy work there no doubt. Nicely done and a very, very clean look... Thanks . That was my first spinning rod I had made after a number of fly rods. And it was a Sage blank of all brands. Nice! That's impressive.. It really does look great. A really nice alternative to those who do...

Re: Rods without a hook keeper

That's some nice handy work there no doubt. Nicely done and a very, very clean look. But honestly, I still prefer the Fuji EZ Keeper. To me, it screams JDM and quality. Not only do I love how it looks, I love how I can place it where I want, then move it if I want, then change the color if I want wh...
