Re: Ryoga 1016H (Black) gear set
I looked on Plat and it appears you can’t buy just the gear set. I’d recommend shooting them a message. Joe Cheers for the reply, the parts on Plat are only for the older silver version, unable to find the newer models set anywhere, I will send them a message in case. I am hoping someone might know...

Ryoga 1016H (Black) gear set
Question folks I have a a Ryoga 1016h (black) RH that has suffered some light corrosion on the main gear and is a bit rough, tried ordering from Daiwa Aust but no stock :crying: Does anyone know of any availability or other gear set that will fit, happy with gear ratios up to 7.3 and either brass or...

Re: More new Tatula models...
I have owned a few Tatula variants such as the original and ct, ct type r and they were ok but a bit meh, I recently bought the Tatula HLC and that is the bomb! For a Tatula that is.

Re: reels in australia
Hey mate, much of our low profile baitcaster and casting rod technology come out of the US and Japanese Bass scene as well as many lures. We often see models from the USDM, JDM and South East Asian (Oceania) markets and occasionally get Australia specific models come through (Edge Rods Black Widow S...

Re: Shimano reel names
I knew Aldabaran and Antares were astronomical bodies but then I googled Metanium😂😂, agreed changing from Stradic to Vanford is big mistake, Vanford sounds like a brand of comfortable slippers😬. Daiwa’s Tatula variants are out of control, I don’t know who has taken over these companies in the last 5...

Re: North Fork Composite HM-XRay Blank Question
Kistler Zbones Edge rods Black Widow series those are the only ones I know of. However I have built on a couple of the X-Ray blanks and really like them. There regular HM blanks are really good too. Got a bunch of rods that need testing. Just need the time to go and weather to cooperate. I don’t th...

Re: EVA handles ... yea or nay ?
True mate, high quality, high density foam grips are nice and transmit as well as cork, good quality rod builders do them very well.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 7:09 pmMakes me think some folks are under the impression that their is only 1 type of foam, crap grade, Walmart style. Re: EVA handles ... yea or nay ?
There is no doubt good quality dense EVA, high quality cork and even rubberised corks are all good in their own right but I do feel the need to come to the defense of carbon. I had a love affair with the NRX JWR 803c for a number of years, had Barra blow apart that split reel seat 3 times but in the...

Re: Scorpion MGL
I guess I should add that many of the other reels I have owned are of the Scorpion quality ie plastic side plates such as the Tatula ct and many of the older Curados. It’s not my first rodeo so pump and wind and judicious thumb pressure are all part of my repertoire, as with all Barra fishermen low...

Re: Scorpion MGL
Well I have just read the biggest load of cods wallop I have heard in years, that is a picture of myself with that Barramundi, I have owned fleets of Middle to high end Shimano, Daiwa and Abu baitcasters over the last 30 years all used for saltwater Barra and this reel was the quickest to fail gear ...
