A lot of discontinued parts on fishshop.shimano
I think I heard Shimano is moving to global parts numbers. Is that why a lot of parts are listed as "discontinued" until the website gets updated? For example, the Curado K 200XG drive gear shows as discontinued. BNT5688 >> 10SRN. The part really isn't discontinued already, is it?

Metanium B schematic issue
I had serviced one of 2020 Metaniums over the winter. I must have followed the schematic for reassembly. Particularly the order in which the bushing and washers are placed on the worm gear. Got a chance to use the reel last week and noticed I was having line lay issues on the spool. I decided to mes...

Re: Met 13 Idle Gear question
Been awhile since I've had my met 13 but I believe the idle gear turns 90 degrees about the level wind to lock in place. With the c clip removed on the side plate side of the level wind, pull the whole thing out. Set the idle gear by sliding it on and turning it to lock in place and then install it ...

They are the same grease. I too had done this for my Curado 70 way back.

Re: Shimano and Jackall Prepare to Launch New Poison Adrena rods and Lures at the Classic
The same models can be found in Japan, here is the full line up. http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/rod/5348 I really like my 166ml, I'm planning on grabbing the 172h when they become available. I'm curious to see what the warranty Shimano offers on these will be, though I'd have to guess one year.

Been quiet in here. What's everyone's thoughts of the Curado DC now that it has been out for a bit?

Re: Curado 71hg gear swap?
Some where sold a set for the Curado 70 to be converted to a 5 gear, few had done it for a good compact cranking reel. https://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=898_792_793&products_id=11370&zenid=bbf8ac605bca5e8da8c847387b95be7b Teeth look small, but I don't think t...

Re: curado 71
I had the same issue and looking through old posts on this subject I know I posted in, I see OP either posted in them or started them. Only time it would happen for me was when the drag was set lightly and when using a jerkbait. The culprit in my mind is the fact that there are no beveled washers on...

Re: Aldebaran MGL
I had always wondered if the 2016 Aldebaran BFS XG gears would fit into the 2015 Aldebarans. They are the same frame and I think they both have a bearing on the spool shaft so I would think that part of the frame would be the same.

Re: Calcutta Conquest handle-side side plate removal
Thanks Bantam! It's the two screws on the inside that seem like they'd be the most difficult, the screw on the outside is a simple. Funny I actually wrapped my screwdriver shaft in electrical tape before I attempted the to grab the inner screws realizing it'd be rubbing against the frame. Interestin...

Calcutta Conquest handle-side side plate removal
Searched around and couldn't find an answer. I was looking at my Calcutta Conquest 300 last night and couldn't figure out how to remove the handle-side side plate. The two screws on the inside portion, on the spool side if that makes sense, seem like they they would give me a problem. They look to h...

Re: New 2018 Stella FJ and Bantam MGL
It looks like the pawl cap is on a horizontal plane, sits behind the level wind guard. I'd have thought it would be turned down to access it since the level wind guard is now part of the one piece frame.
Are these the only two reels to be released in early 2018 for the US market?

Interesting, for some reason I thought the CZ bearings had an inner and outer race. It looks like the bearing is just one solid piece in the pictures.

Re: Conquest rods shipping
Bantam, I just got my 843c Conquest. In my first short trip out, it is very clear that the MBR with the fast tip is much softer than my NRX. It is clearly going to be more versatile, but am I going to like it as much for jig and worm fishing (primary use of this rod) as the NRX I sold. Are you comp...

Re: Problems with my Curado K
Got the part last weekend when I was out of town. Got a chance to take apart the reel this past weekend and everything is good as new. Thanks Bantam!Mike son wrote: Nothing I can't handle. The reel will be broken down this winter anyways for a cleaning.
