Re: G. Loomis GLX Casting Rod 7' Heavy 844C MBR

I use an IMX 844 MBR (the model before the IMX Pro) for hollowbody frogs and horny toads among a few other moving bait techniques around grass that require braid. It performs fine for all that I mentioned, however I believe my IMX is rated up to 1oz. So I got rid of my IMX 844 and replaced it with ...

Re: New Ald 30mgl

Picked up a new mgl 30 from japan. I was worried about line capacity being down. To my surprise I took the line directly off of one of my fully spooled 50's and it held all but about 5 yards of it??? That's pretty interesting. I love my 50 but was concerned with the 30's line capacity. I may pick o...

Re: Loomis Noob, looking for GLX help

I have the new GLX's in 853 and 844. Try to handle them if haven't already. I'd agree with arrowslinger that they do feel a little lighter than their ratings, at least the 853 does to me. Though sometimes I don't realize how much I can lean into it, I think it has to do with the fact that they are s...

Re: Wanees.jp custom reels & exoskeletons

Yep I stumbled upon them too on IG awhile back and thought they were pretty cool. I don't think they are available for purchase, at least not yet here in the US. I think they would sell pretty darn well here and I was thinking the dude better hurry up and start mass production before someone else co...

Re: Noisy new Chronarch MGL - normal?

To me it sounds a bit like the spool is touching the frame slightly when moving. Cheers. Mine was and still is super quiet. If you feel like it sounds like the spool is touching the frame. Take the spool out and see if there is excess paint on the frame where the spool rides. Saw it once on one of ...

Re: curado 71

I had the same issue and looking through old posts on this subject I know I posted in, I see OP either posted in them or started them. Only time it would happen for me was when the drag was set lightly and when using a jerkbait. The culprit in my mind is the fact that there are no beveled washers on...

Re: Aldebaran MGL

I had always wondered if the 2016 Aldebaran BFS XG gears would fit into the 2015 Aldebarans. They are the same frame and I think they both have a bearing on the spool shaft so I would think that part of the frame would be the same.

Re: G Loomis demo rods

Well this is unfortunate. I don't own a demo rod but I did have my eye on an nrx demo to purchase in the near future. How do you know a rod is a demo ? Are they marked in some way? I’ve bought demo rods and reels and haven’t noticed anything. This. I hadn't heard of anything that differentiated them...

Re: Chatterbait rod

I use an 843 and 844. I only lose fish when I see them hit near the end of the retrieve and rip it out of their mouth ](*,) . Otherwise I just lean into it when using braid or a light pop hook set with fluoro.

I'm thinking you missed the very small screw by the thumb bar, it's actually on the guide that the thumb bar travels on.

Re: Metanium DC - maintenance

So, At the levelwind...do.you think that I could add 1 bearing or 2? Is there anu place? Tks Just look at the schematic... there is no bearing on the levelwind nor is there a bushing to replace. So no, you cannot add a bearing or two to the levelwind. http://www.plat.co.jp/parts/SHIMANO-BAIT/METANI...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

I got to handle these rods at a sport show over the weekend, I was very impressed. I am glad I did because now I know that I should get the 4 power instead of the 3 power, the rods are very light Were you at the Chicago show? I too was really impressed by the Conquests. The 843 seems real nice and ...

Re: Calcutta Conquest handle-side side plate removal

Thanks Bantam! It's the two screws on the inside that seem like they'd be the most difficult, the screw on the outside is a simple. Funny I actually wrapped my screwdriver shaft in electrical tape before I attempted the to grab the inner screws realizing it'd be rubbing against the frame. Interestin...

Calcutta Conquest handle-side side plate removal

Searched around and couldn't find an answer. I was looking at my Calcutta Conquest 300 last night and couldn't figure out how to remove the handle-side side plate. The two screws on the inside portion, on the spool side if that makes sense, seem like they they would give me a problem. They look to h...
