Re: JDM Rods to have this Spring???

I recently got the Poison Adrena 166ML-2 for jerkbaits. Only had a chance to fish with it one day in early January when we got a reprieve from the ice here in northern Illinois. Handled a 110 and 110+1 great imo, the rod was in my hands all day as jerkbaits were all we could catch fish on. Ended up ...

Re: What is your prefered reel for jerkbaits

Aldebaran 50hg for me. I think what most can agree on is a light reel, and rod while we're at, to help minimize fatigue during a long day of fishing jerkbaits. I can see why people like a higher retrieve for picking up slack. I can also see why people like the lower retrieve for slowing the bait dow...

By the way, reels appeared on digitaka (46 400 and 55 200 JPY).

Good price on the new Antares, I might be a buyer. Hoping the USD to JPY is favorable come decision time.

Question on installation of ZPI star drag on Daiwa Steez SV TW

Picked up a ZPI pentagram star drag and have one small question regarding the installation. I can't read japanese but I assume you are supposed to replace the stock keyed washer with the keyed washer included with the zpi star drag. Is my assumption correct? Just hoping someone can confirm this for ...

Re: best bass of 2018

Impromptu punching grass with 16lb sniper when I figured out they wouldn't come up to eat a frog. 22 1/8th inches. Unfortunately my scale still had the batteries out of it to dry out after flipping the kayak a few weeks prior. I'd estimate 5.5-6lbs out of Shabbona Lake in northern Illinois. https://...

Re: Let's see that backlash!

Earlier this year I hit some small overgrowth near shore as I stood a few steps back skipping a jig. Picked it out in 8 mins or so with no kinks ](*,)

Re: Jerkbait rod

Is anyone using G. Loomis IMX-PRO 812C JBR? I've got the IMX 812c jbr, the model that preceded the IMX Pros. It works great. Nice short handle that doesn't get in the way when working the bait. It's rated up to 3/8oz but I can still throw 110s with a flick of the wrist or roll cast. With a fish on ...

Re: Daiwa Spool Case

I use a pill bottle. One of the shorter and wider bottles. I wrap the spool in bubble wrap and tuck the ends over to cover the spool shaft ends so that it doesn't rattle around in the bottle.

To stir the pot...

It is posted in the "hot deals" section that the scorpion 70 is on sale on Japan tackle. Maybe the first sign of a new 70? The Yokohama show is a little over a month away \:D/

Re: What's next for Shimano???

I think that TW video was shot early this year along with all the other TW videos featuring Lintner and Davis. I think the reel they were referring to is the Ald MGL which hadn't been released until ICAST. I could be wrong though. I noticed the Tackle Trap is dumping a lot of the remaining stock of ...

Re: Curado 71hg gear swap?

Some where sold a set for the Curado 70 to be converted to a 5 gear, few had done it for a good compact cranking reel. https://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=898_792_793&products_id=11370&zenid=bbf8ac605bca5e8da8c847387b95be7b Teeth look small, but I don't think t...

Re: Shimano Expride A Casting Rod 7'2" Med Lt+ Reviews

Funny. I was looking at this rod on ebay a week or two ago for throwing 1/8oz texas rigs for smallmouth. It is now sold  Thinking about using it for 1/4oz drop shot as well. Both techniques using with an Aldebaran 50hg. I got the 7'2ML+ a couple of months ago.... How would describe the taper?

Really? I've got an NRX 843 and never thought it could go up to 1oz, I think it's rated to 5/8oz if I recall correctly.
