Re: Tatula knobs with carbon handle on ryoga 1016 L!!!

Hope the OP is still around. Have to revive this thread to ask you a question. Looked all over Hedgehog and can't find their brand carbon handle. The only carbon cranks I find are the questionable $20 Ebay joints, or the $100+ official Daiwa ones. If anyone has some intel on where to get a high qua...

Re: Show off your BFS Casting Reels

Here are a few project reels. I need to polish up the Ai and track down a red level wind eyelet. I was able to clear up the yellowed lexan with tooth paste but it is not as clear as I would like. The Silver Mica needs cork knobs and the PXR needs to ditch the Tatula knobs for I style knobs. Both the...

Re: The Ugly Ducklings

Love em. I really, really like the 1st reel. I want to do a similar build someday to a TD-Z Type R I picked up. I sticker bombed a ray's carbon handle and plasti diped the reel in both blaze pink and then blaze purple to get an idea of how it would look. I think it be cool to incoporate some of the ...

Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??

I wonder if they will be xXx rods with full cork and xx markings? This is what appears to be in the foreground in bigg's picture. I really like the current xx rod tapers so I hope we get some usdm specific tapers. I've got an xXx BE2 and the taper is unimpressive for a MB stick. It's a blah medium ...

Agree 100%. I only have my 65UL because the original owner felt it was a poor fit for tout and I was able to inquire then acquire.

Re: TDZ / TDX is there a better platform

TD-Zs are more versatile than Alphas but I can't get over the geary retrieve of mag reels and TD-Z is no exception. For that reason alone I'd rather have an SV103 or Alphas. Not knocking the TD-Z by any means. For the record my TD-Z is smoother than my SS SV, IS73 and Steez LTD but not as smooth as ...

https://s1.postimg.org/47fyh34x1r/20171008_180642.jpg This thing. The Teton is a fun stick and the Black Max 3 with its strong magnets and large range on the mag dial means that I can dial in the 10 gram Momo spool easily all the way down to controlled casting of 1/32 oz baits. https://s3.postimg.o...

Re: ultra light casting rod?

Would the Teton 662L be a good all-around choice for hard and soft baits? Will I be able to cast trout magnets with my pixy/diy spool? Maybe. The 662L is rated down to 2 gram but I don't like fishing rods right at their low limit. I would think an UL Teton would be a better fit. My experience with ...

Good ol Ray's glue. Their inductors are notorious for ungluing like that and free spinning. Regluing the inductor back on with a quality adhesive usually does the trick

Re: XX PP for small swimbaits?

It's not the right rod for the task. I've thrown baits close to that with the rod and while it did well it felt like the tip was overloading and prolonged use would be detrimental to the rod IMO. Sounds like it's time for a Super Red Demon :evil22: It'll take your mind off the recent loss The srd i...
