Re: RCS 2020 Spool

I don't believe the 2020 spool will fit those reels. See, now you need to get Z2020 now that you have a spool. That's how it works. Get the black one with the racing stripes.

Re: Is there a way to increase the braking force on the OG Steez?

Is it possible that the inductor is not close enough to the magnets to active at all but the highest of settings? Is there a missing space under the palming side bearing or something? I've never owned an early Steez but this issue sounds odd like there is something wrong with the reel.

Re: Is there a way to increase the braking force on the OG Steez?

Take the BFS bearings out of it, and put the stocks back in and see if that helps some. Otherwise, you are trying to mod a reel for casting performance that you cant control. Before receiving the HedgeHog bearings, the stock ones is what i used. Generally speaking, it was about the same. mag dial a...

Re: Roboworm Ned Worms

You don't need a floating plastic or even have to fish the new on the bottom to get bit. I catch a ton just swimming it through the water column. I wouldn't give up on the baits yet.

Re: Zillion Type R to Zillion TWS

so to bring this back full circle, not getting rid of the R's :). I did find a TD-Z ito spool I can try, or pickup the Steez 103 +R from TT. That would give me a few options to play with. Or may just move the reels around as spooky suggested - that solution is so simple, I never even thought of it ...

Re: Zillion Type R to Zillion TWS

So, thinking about upgrading a few combos, switching over from older non TWS Zillions to ZIllion TWS or Tatula TWS. Am I being crazy? Is TWS all it's advertised to be finally? Have the early line gouging issues pretty much been corrected? Mainly thinking of replacing reels on my Flipping/Pitching/J...

Re: Deciphering Daiwa Model numbers

It is all platform dependent. In the three digit spools, they are as follows: Td-z 100m us trail and Zillions interchange Alphas and Sols interchange TD-z 103 and Steez interchange These are all "100" sized platforms. Although the SV103 is in a Zillion frame, it is not a Zillion!! The Alp...

Re: Chatterbait rod

I’ve been using a few different rods for my Chatterbait fishing but I was wondering if anyone has used the Megabass Black Jungle deep throat custom for chatterbaits? I would appreciate any feedback thank you all always! I'd recommend starting a new topic to summon Gary of The Tackle Trap. He knows ...

Re: Tatula Elite AGS M/MH for Jerkbait?

I have no idea about the Tatula models you listed but the 172 M Zodias works very well as a highly versatile slightly beefier jerbait rod. Something to consider.

Re: Alphabrake - New Kind of Braking?

Interesting. It sounds like it operates as a centrifugal brake in reverse. I rather like the ability of a centrifugal brake to curb spool RPM durring spool acceleration. With the alpha brake it sounds like spool tension is needed to keep the spool in check when accelerating.

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?

After toying with a 1520HL today my initial impression is of THE smoothest factory reel I've possessed. Can't find anything I don't like, general conclusion I need another. Real soon. I've been waiting for a reel like this. Sometimes, 1016 is too little and 2020 is too much. As for it not being abl...

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?

Ryoga (1016 & 1520) deep cranking in Mexico- https://youtu.be/OPcafhiCuKw At 30 seconds in, what is the low profile reel all the way to the left? Looks like a box Tatula/Zillion with the recessed mag dial like the Steez TWS. There is going to be a new Zillion out with this feature and most like...
