Awseome. An actual DIY spool. I assume it is made from carbon fiber. How does it cast?

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

You can convert the PE to braid # and then use that to ball park the amount of line based on diameter it will hold. Judging by the pics the CT deep DIY "Long Cast" spool looks to be similar in depth to a Tatula CT SV spool so I would think it would hold useable amounts of #10 and #12 non b...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

No luck on tracking down the new fixed inductor DIY spools but I did find these. Says they are for the Shimano Bass One 150/151 but I bet it would fit a Caenan too. Looks like you have to reuse the original brake blocks. https://s10.postimg.org/yl2okzwq1/HTB1_Tzt3o4_TI8_KJj_Sspiq6z_M4_FXa_S.jpg http...

That´s the silver non ported version for Zonda/Alphas, right?

Re: Best UL BC for trouts in small streams

What´s the best BC for UL trout fishing in small streams? Baits will be from a little less than 2 gramm up to four gramm. Important is easy and controlled casting. Distance doesn´t matter that much because the streams are small. I usually have to use my thumb to stop the bait from hitting the other...

Re: Steez SV (non TW)

Side by side Met MGL/13 Vs Steez SV (Non TW) the Steez is smaller in just about all respects. I can get my hand much further around it than with my Mets. Kurt Wow, good to know didn’t realize it was that small. Must be a lot smaller then a Zillion SV TW then. Thanks! They palm like an Alphas/Pixy b...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

You won't be able to reuse the purple Ray's micro bearing holder. It's a they're different sized bearings. You'll have to order the complete air BFS bearings for Pixy. The Ray's bearings are pretty decent actually. without reusing the bearing holder, any idea what's the exact bearing size i'd need ...

Re: Is BFS and ultralight baitcasting the same?

They're not the same but they are similar. The rods differ mainly. A BFS rod is meant for bass fishing and an even an UL BFS rod will be stiffer and have more backbone than a true UL rod. Majorcraft has seperate BFS and trout rods for a reason.

Here's my el cheapo bfs set-up.... Fuego CT with Zaion star, 80mm handle (suits me for light work), silver handle nut and pawl cover. Using parts I had on hand from other reel builds, I don't even have the full retail cost of the reel in it lol! Can't wait to see if it performs as well as looks. ht...

Re: Tatula model differences question ...

I have 6 of the tatula's and really like them. Very simple to adjust and backlashes are nearly impossible unless you happen to snag some plant life behind you on the back stroke. All but the CT R are super smooth. Does anyone know why this may be or have others found the same? I have the 8:1 CT R a...

Re: Tatula model differences question ...

I fish a left hand wind, so never move my hand from the palming position whether I'm casting or retrieving. Maybe something about my hand constantly being on the non gearbox side makes adjusting the brake accidentally more likely, but it really is annoying with the Alpha SV! How many fingers do you...
