Re: Finding a "Light" BFS rod???

It's a shame you missed out on the Volkeys. The UL bfs would've suited you well and wouldn't have cost a fortune. I have the L and 1/16 is asking a lot. I don't have a true bfs reel, though, so it may be possible. I stick to 1/8-1/4 with 8# Invizx on a T3 with an sv1000 shallow and hedgehog air cer...

Re: If I need new BFS reel?

Keep in mind that various 1/8 oz hard baits will cast differently. My 1/8 oz Rebel Teeny Wee Pop R casts like a crumpled up piece of paper and my 1/8 oz Tiny Trap casts like it is rocket propelled.

Re: If I need new BFS reel?

Popping a DIY spool in a reel you already have is a good start. You will however, become addicted to BFS fishing and will have a choice to make. Take the blue pill and wake up believing BFS was all a dream and return to fishing however you did OR...take the red pill, and see how far down the rabbit...

Re: Kuying TopCaster Rod review X2

Agreed, I wouldn't touch any of those cheap Chinese reels, I don't have the same confidence they would be as good as the rods. Zero confidence in fact. I got $45 invested in a Tsurinoya XF 50 reel. It's toyish without a doubt, but the tinkerer in me likes a challenge ... it casts just a tad beyond ...

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa

How about a compromise between a Z1016 and a new Zillion? Maybe a Zillion based on the Steez A trickling down with brass gears and Magforce 3D. I would also take the old Tatula/Zillion TWS in the 7.5 to 8 oz range trickling up with Magforce 3D, recessed mag dial, dual aluminum sideplates and various...

Thanks for the preview, the rods look interesting as enthusiast moving bait sticks.

Re: What's next for Daiwa...

Semantics. You can have the last word. You are 100% right. I am 110% wrong. I'm done. All the best. It is simple right and wrong. You were wrong and we were right. There is notbing wrong with being wrong. I go down wrong paths all the time troubleshooting electrical circuits or writing ladder logic...

Re: What's next for Daiwa...

Daiwa reels are filled with coils and electromagnets? OK. You can have the last word. You are 100% right. I am 110% wrong. I'm done. All the best. A coil and magnets, yes. The spool is the coil. A current is induced into this coil when in the presence of the magnetic field produced by the magnets ....

Re: What's next for Daiwa...

It does not matter if the magnets are fixed. The spool is not fixed. It is the rotation of the spool that causes the induced current . This has been broken down to you multiple times. Look up Lenz law. Not true. The induced current comes from the magnets. Lenz law says so. Do you realize the magnet...

Re: What's next for Daiwa...

Accuracy. I did not say those things. Someone said the INDUCED field changes. If the magnets are fixed, how can the induced field change? The magnet's strength is FIXED. Unchanging. How hard is this to comprehend I wonder? Still scratching my head over that one and how it keeps going on and on into...

Re: What's next for Daiwa...

Lenz effect doesn't exist Alumimum is magnetically north/south attracted to magnets Electromagnetism can not be achieved with magnets because they are not electromagnets The faster you move the less resistance you will encounter because you're going faster not slower Magneric brake reels use magneti...

Re: What's REALLY next for Daiwa

I always assumed the demand for a "Z1016" was for there to be an aluminum framed Magforce 3D reel with a 1016 or 103 spool compatibility. Z1016 as opposed to "metal T3 that is not a T3 because I don't want a pop up hood or it to be snapped like a wedge". Is there really an appeal...

Re: 2019 wishes

Well they kinda gave me what I wanted already - kinda. Always wanted a metal T3 without the pop up hood. Got the Steez SV TW. It's close enough in form and ergonomics, but no 3D braking. I'd like to see a Megabass Steez SV TW, a new Pixy with the spool from the SV Light Limited, and some Heartland ...
