Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Quick question, I own a pair of Shimano Caius baitcasters and have been looking for a shallow spool to install on it. Surprisingly, in stock form it is capable of throwing light lures like in the 2g range. AliExpress has this 1 shallow spool for the Shimano Casitas. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/...

Re: ICAST 2019

You and I may seen Aluminum frame and brass gears as an improvement but Daiwa still considers magnesium frames and aluminium gears as a premium features. They're not wrong. Magnesium frames and aluminum gears cut that well to be as smooth as they are can't be cheap. With this new Steez moving to a s...

Re: ICAST 2019

I'm hoping that there is a Steez A based Zillion with brass gears coming out this year. That would be awesome. [-o<

Re: Daiwa SV103 or 50th Anniversary opinions

I've got the Megabass Version of the JDream with an HLC spool in it and it is great. Love that reel. I think the IP68 has a stronger magnet than regular TD Zillions like how the IS reels have stronger magnets than the Steez reels. I think thusbhelps to control the HLC spool a little better.

Are those 1520 Aliexpress spools? They don't appear to be Ray's studio.

Re: Educate Me on TD-Z 103GL-RZ Limited Edition

With how many fingers in front of the trigger are there reels meant to be palmed with? You are supposed to palm them while casting? I passed on one a while ago because they didn't look like something I could cast and palm but I have regrets everytime I see one. Just one, they sit low on the rod. Yo...

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?

http://i.imgur.com/0c5cLMuh.jpg?1 I finally took the plunge. I was looking for an excuse to buy a new Ryoga and picking up a SRD this winter was it. Only had it out for a few hours yesterday but am already in love. So smooth and powerful, I was cranking down a BBZ50 Rat like it was a 1.0 Squarebill...

Aquaftm45, have you thrown the Zillion 1520 HD? I like the looks of the reel and line capacity but am uncertain about the fixed inductor spool. They pop up for some really good prices from time to time making them tempting.

Re: ICAST 2019

I am going to buy one just to encourage Shimano to produce reels with names I can pronounce. Just for that Shimano is going to change the name to Eshellaleks. That'll be the Shishamo version. Feast your eyes on the Cadence CB8. Please tell me thats not a Doyo made Shimano. Just some China knock off...

Yep, sent it in. Antares are spposed to be the definition of smooth. At least that is my understanding as a non Antares owner.
