Re: Why should I buy a Daiwa Zillion J-Dream?
I have been considering picking up a mint or near mint right hand J-Dream 6.3. It seems like the cream of the crop when it comes to the Zillion platform.

One could be more than happy with just this combo.down4ttown wrote:Probably Dobyns DX744 with a J Dream.
(Not sure if a J Dream can handle salt water though and that is something I would avoid.)

Re: Daiwa J-Braid Opinions
I am not a fan of J Braid. I have two of the same reels both spooled with 30# braid. One has Suffix 832 and the other has J braid 8X. I have used several spools of the Suffix 832 and have never had an issue with it. I use the ghost/white so there is no color to bleed off. (I also have use the Hi-Vis...

Re: 50 or 60 lb Sunline FX2 Froggin' braid
I love Sunline FX2 for frogging. It is an awesome product. It sounds like steel cable going through the guides until you break it in. I found treating the line when it is fresh will reduce the noise and allow the braid to go through the guides a little smoother reducing the noise. I have a spool fil...

I also use 30# Suffix 832 as LowRange mentioned. I use a 3 ft mono or Fluoro leader depending on the water clarity.Brad in Texas wrote:Has anyone experimented with a sinking braid? Sufix makes one as do several other line manufacturers.

Re: Tatula Signature Series
I have the elite frog rod, actually use it for jigs. The balance and weight are both amazing. I have the steez tw A on mine and balance is great. Sensitivity is very good, would make an excellent frog rod but I bought it specifically for throwing 1/2oz jigs which it is great at. I had a feeling thi...

Re: U-40 cork sealer and handles with lots of filler
I been using U-40 for about 10-15 years now, the first thing I do when I get a new rod is seal the cork. Personally I think it does hold the filler in once its been coated, if done when the rod is brand new. This This is similar to my experience. In the instances when I cleaned and sealed the cork ...

Re: It’s all about the Journey – The Shimano Stella FI Spinning Reel
I thought this was an interesting review. I also felt that maybe the experience with the reel would have been different if the 3000 model was tested. Compared to the 2000 model, the 3000 model has: - a stronger drag - casts better (flawless) due to the wider diameter spool - has a wider range of app...

Re: First Look Inside the New, all ALUMINUM Daiwa Steez A TW 1016 Baitcasting Reel
It's just 4 handle bearings guys. Take it easy, you can swap those for less than tree fiddy. Plus you don't have to be a reel tech to do it. I have nothing but great things to say about the magnesium version. Finest reel I've used, absolute pleasure to fish with. The form factor is the best Daiwa h...

Re: Should I sell my SV spools?
I get my sv spools adjusted with a different spring from Ian shields . It's that fast smooth feeling you are looking for , trust me . It feels 3 times better and casts further. All my sv spools have zpi ceramics or Yt fusion bearings , Ian has made my reels racing machines with effortless distance ...
