Re: Chronarch MGL...

Ci4 is also not listed on the German website. However as the drag star is ci4, it would be a correct statement for all current Metanium models?

Re: Chronarch MGL...

On all the websites pictures of the 24 Metanium DC, the threads are in the sideplate and the screw heads are on the inside frame. So the fear is legit, on my 16 Aldebaran bfs I’ve also ripped the threads one day. Maybe just one too many HOWEVER I think the said pro-staff got it all wrong and are mis...

Re: Ticking Sound-Stradic FM

Had the tick in a Stradic FL but only under load, sent it back no problem. Ticks drive me nuts, totally unacceptable to me.

The Gravity BFS has my attention.
You mean the re-branded Haibo Arise Air :D
Saw that one on aliexpress. Didn't know that they are the same reel.
Maybe there are some differences, but the obvious - body and braking system are the same.

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis

You might be able to heat shrink over the carbon basket weave grips. http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=88951 Really depends if the pokey carbon strands are already soaked and hardened with epoxy - if so, the shrink tube won't push them down flat (unless you go really really hot to ...

Re: Time for Another Build or Two: Point Blank Rods's PB731HXF

I’ve built that exact same blank recently. Mine came in heavier than stated, can’t finde my note of proof but I believe it was 2.5oz. Total rod weight 4.47oz also caused by the reel seat and aluminum locknut trim thing. Balancing torque 0.19 ftlbs at a 10.5 inch handle length (butt to reel seat) an...

Re: How to get brake shoes for 20 Metanium

They are not being sold separately… I just took two off of a random svs reel, as I run with 2 pins on all reels and only mess with the dial. If you need 4 on all reels, the cheapest you can go is buying a replacement spool of the cheapest Shimano reel that uses these pins, whichever model this might...

You may find your answers in the „other“ Bantam thread: http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=87500&sid=8b65846f760f7040630c5069597ec56f#p704163 Also in this graphic you can see where the load is supported aka where pinion and shaft are touching in the ocea jigger. Should be the sim...

Handle, knobs and some more bearings added. I don’t think going from normal to micro gear would add weight.

Re: Aldebaran MGL Spool

I was casting my friend's aldebaran mgl with 2 internal brakes on and the dial at 3 which was perfectly fine for me. I don't anticipate going up to 6 on the dial, so I think I'll go ahead and forego the plastic housing cup (I think it's bnt5888 for the lefty). If for some reason in the future I fee...

Re: Aldebaran MGL Spool

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I recently fished my friend’s aldebaran mgl to compare to my regular 2015 aldebaran and noticed how much smoother it felt during a cast. Although my 2015 aldebaran is a fairly smooth caster, is there something besides the mgl spool and svs infinity 2 braking s...

Re: A Masterpiece - Shimano's Metanium MGL 150B Baitcaster

I don't think the spools are different size at all, depth or otherwise. Check the specs on both websites yourself. If anything, Shimano USA got the meter to yard conversion wrong on the 14lb rating. All signs point to them bieng the same, exact spool. As for the Antares/Metanium spool comparison, I...
