Re: 2019 Conquest bfs reel
I think the best pairing for the conquest bfs is the nrx 852!!!! Such a good pairing! It’s the combo I use! Can do everything you mentioned 2.5G+ easily.

Re: Shimano Poison Ultima Baitcasting 1610L-BFS
I've been looking at this rod as well. Does anyone know how this compares to Steez RD 631ML FB or the NRX 802C that I'm currently using for 1/8 - 3/16 jigs/tubes It's going to be lower in power than the NRX 802C, and I believe the 1610L would be too weak to handle a 3/16 jig or a normal 3.5"sized t...

Re: Bantam mgl usa vs. Japan
Oh man can't wait to punch and flip with the bantam I'm reading for summer small mouth fishing with the supposed shallow spool. Don't really need another reel, but I've already got a rod picked for this one. HAHAHA I dont think many of us on here NEED another reel (* bait monkey whispers " but you ...

Re: Curado K gears
Only the drive gear is compatible you still need a Met. pinion and the Curado handle side drag washer. My XG's have never been smoother although I have not had them on the water yet but from what I can tell so far I'm all smiles :D Kurt x2 Does this mean we can finally put carbontex drag washers in...

Re: Storing and transporting extra casting reel spools
I put each in a sandwich plastic bag and store them with my plastics. But I have a sling pack from Yukon outfitters thats only 20 bucks that has padded compartments. I always use the Ziploc so no dirt gets on the spool from my back pack

Re: Curado K gears
I called shimano on multiple occasions and they keep telling me that the curado k brass gears are NOT interchangeable with the metanium mgl aluminum gears... is there any reason for them to say this? The wide spread know-how that this swap works is down by the enthusiasm on this forum.

Re: Shimano Calcutta Conquest 200
I'm not trying my to thread jack here, but would you guys considered the conquest 100 a versatile reel? I'm also planning on picking one up just because I've always admire Calcutta since they had the TE models. Id say the conquest 100 hg is a more verasatile reel. The 100 does not have enough ipt t...

Re: U-40 cork sealer and handles with lots of filler
I think you wont have any problems filling when its new. The only issue I had eith old rods that i wanted to coat with u-40 is when i scrubbed the habdle, alot of the filler fell out haha so make sure you are disciplined and apply u40 on the new rods and wait for them to dry before using!

Just got the reel in. Wow, 2 days since I ordered it form Japanlureshop! I also got a daiwa lipless crank with a metal lip like the jackall lipless as a gift! It is an amazing reel to hold. Just as smooth as the rest of the conquest line-up. Loving the drag clicker noise! Will post pictures as soon ...

Re: ALUMINUM Daiwa Steez vs Metanium MGL vs Conquest 100
The MGL has issues with water pooling in the tension knob part. I have had several bearings rust and the channel where the bearing knob is supposed to be is some cheap plastic/cast metal or something. It's corroded. My curado and conquest still work fine in the salt. I always use deionized water to ...
