Re: Do Expride rods have a high rate of breakage?

I’ve had a first generation 6’6 medium for 3 years that I use for jerkbaits and topwater’s with no issues at all. Actually one of my favorite rods. Can’t speak on the new gen

Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??

If the xxx never came out everybody would be all over these like flies on $**+! The xxx are decent rods and if the new xx rods fish better then the originals dressed up like a xxx then I believe they will be a hit!!!

Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??

I had the Tour Versatile in the original line, but didn’t get a chance to try to Perfect Pirch. What made the PP so much more widely loved than the TV in yall’s opinions? I've never fished the TV but the pp has just the right amount of tip for many techniques and flows right into a solid backbone. ...

There appears to be a new perfect pitch. If it’s as good as the original or better then you will have all the frog rod you need! :D

Re: Black Jungle 7'4" Power Versatile

I know it’s probaby not the ideal rod but could I get away using PV with Huddleston 68’s because I don’t do enough larger Swimbait fishing to warrant a rod for single hook and treble hook. Or is there a better rod in the megabass line up for trebles in the 1-2.5 oz range and single hook soft Swimbai...

Re: Over-Braked Daiwa's

I bought 4 tatula’s. 2 8:1, 1 7:3, and 1 6:3 and the only one I felt didn’t feel over braked was the 6:3. Not sure why the 6:3 cast better but i sold the other 3. I have SV103 and sv105 and the both cast better than the tat.

Re: Knot question

If you leave yourself a nice tag end of leader I find you can get it to grab every time. I clinch the braid in my teeth and do the wraps with the leader, seems to work best for me.

Re: XX PP for small swimbaits?

There is a shimano poison adrena 7 ft 4 swimbait rod on ebay that is rated 1-4 oz that may fit the bill for your 2.5 oz baits. Power vesitile is way to go if you have the coin.

Re: Any braids better than Daiwa Samurai?

The new spiderwire smooth is really strong line. It is impossible to break 50lb when hung. It is a little on the thick side as far as braid goes but its smooth and quite. Probably because it's abs is close to 80lbs Daiwas j braid 50 breaks at 76 when I use a pr knot Makes sense, I had a frog hung i...

I don't have experience with the rod but the hyuga 7'2 h has been talked about on this site as being very similar to the destruction and the power versatile has been recommended for your techniques listed.

Re: Light line leader connection

I have found when using the FG knot and smaller diameter lines you just need to make 6 or 8 more wraps than you would with larger lines. I have also found that if you grab main line with your teeth and put tension on line by putting rod where it wont move and wrap the leader instead of the braid it ...

Re: best topwater frogs

Snag proof bobby's perfect fro in cicada is hands down the best for me. I caught back to back 5 pounders. The hooks spin upside down on hookset and the bass can't leverage itself off. They also don't take on water and have a rattle.
