Re: I believe she is the "one"

Congrats and I like the narrative. =D> Interesting thoughts and that is the great thing about the rod market today. So many options to help fill the gaps. I think the Mets are great on the 3 powered rods and something like the Antares would be nice on the 4 powered rods. How would you compare the a...

I believe she is the "one"

https://i.imgur.com/3uyrfjn.jpg I mainly use 3/16-3/8oz Texas rigged plastics for bottom contact. I first dipped my toe into the high end rod pool 7yrs ago with a glx bcr803 jwr. I couldn't believe the sensitivity but was underwhelmed with the power. She was great for 3/16 ounce tubes/worms just no...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

as long as you have one of the new models, (ie, green blank or two coloured top cork) you should be fine. We bought a number of first gen rods (the one that failed last month was still a first gen rod), as well as 2nd gen rods that replaced many of our first gen rods. So of the 9 failures, they wer...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

absolutely! He calls my NRX's "funny blue rods" that don't work. he refers to the 9 reel seat failures he's been on the boat for (and one as recent as this last trip). tells me I need to upgrade to his St Criox Avid :) "my reels don't fall off, son" =D> I just picked up a NRX 89...

Re: NRX 854

yes but keep in mind I have the zbone produced just before this last release. My zbone is a true xfast rod so it fishes a little stouter then the NRX. Maybe too fast for a braid guy in a short line application. I have no idea what the new model is like. Very much appreciate your recommendation on t...

Re: looking at skipping rods

Megabass f6-69 super destroyer is my skipper. Paired with an sv103 it's pretty legit! Sensitive too.

Re: Megabass Aklys

Have you looked at xpride A 7'6" MH. Longer soft rod would probably feel more parabolic

Re: NRX 854

My MH LE is a bit too soft I've not fished this model LE but when I hear someone say this, I think stout hook set. This leads me to the NRX 873 or 894. From the reviews of the 854, not clear to me it would be stout enough in your hand. 10 other guys might say your LE is just fine with the lures you...

Re: NRX 854

I use 15# FC around wood and MH veg. I use 6 power MB rods for it now (Superdestroyer/FMJ) but am looking for the ultimate sensitivity. I use 8 MB power for Froggin and punching.

You may have talked me into an 895. Looking for something 5/16-3/8oz t-rigs, 3/8oz jigs and occasional 1/2oz jig

Re: NRX 854

I hear ya. The 7'5" is getting a bit long for me. I like a stouter rod than most for bottom contact. I know st.Croix is heavy for a MH and Loomis is light for a heavy
I want to buy an 854c but don't want it to have less power than my 7MH LE
