Musky use...no. Too fast/not powerful enough.
See if the paint on this latest Z actually holds and then after the price drops ad a set of lower gears.
Not a musky reel at all as it sits, 100mm handle or not.

Re: Fishing- Passion vs. Addiction
I'm an addict , that's when you spend more money than you can afford on fishing tackle without any guaranteed return. Passion, well passion is a bit more subjective . In my mind it's hard to function knowing you have been suddenly cut off from your fix (addict) . Passion means I once again simply de...

Re: Your top UL baits
One bait that has been on fire for me this year is the Johnson ThinFisher blade bait in 3/16 oz modified with in line single hooks (the size 14 factory trebles have a terrible hook up ratio). That's actually on the outer limit or perhaps a bit beyond a true UL bait weight wise, but man I was on a r...

If they have a 2oz blade I can't imagine what the whole lure weighs...
I am looking for blades, not Baits. I make baits. Thanks though.

Use it. As awesome a reel as they are , enough were made, and enough new pop up that if you had to have another new, even after all these years they are still to be found.

It's going to depend on exactly which rig which means how much pull and much weight do you need to handle?

Capitalism at it's best with the .22 issue. And there is a big difference between asking and selling. If you don't personally know the guy trying to triple his cash he's a business man. If your buddy or a member of a hobby community is trying to do the same thing , he is a douche. Anybody want to bu...

Oh lordy no. Plenty of knots to choose from that need nothing but spit.

Re: Seaguar Smackdown braid
Agreed. Except the snag thing, because hands and wraparound things like plier handles or sticks are used to free real snags. Never rod and reel. That was kinda my point. People will lock down their drag and pull tight against a snag while using braid. Then they wonder why the line dug into itself. ...

...or maneuver around the snag behind it was snagged .
Bottom line, rely on your own hands and understanding of physics to free a bait.
