Re: Anyone have any recent experiences with NFC?
DrTrevorkian, Cut the act, you're clearly a shill for NFC. Nobody would go to such lengths as you have to defend a company that they aren't affiliated with. The fact that you would even engage with the guy who paid $500 to have a BLANK shipped halfway across the globe and tell him NFC owed him nothi...

Re: Stiff/wirey braid for slack line sensitivity
Fireline's strength weighs in well above what its listed at. I'd try a spool and order something with the same diameter as the braid you're used to. 30lb for instance feels like cable and would fish wood just fine.

Re: Dedicated deep cranking reel ideas— Shimano
I agree with the above sentiment about round reels. The Calcutta line of reels now palm so effortlessly I would argue the 200 size and below are even more comfortable to fish than a low-profile reel. Definitely worth looking into.

Re: Trick shop
I'm sure it would be a hit if Daiwa or Shimano started doing something similar. They already have.. how do you think 13 Fishing came up with the idea. 13 was just able to take it a step further because parts in all their reels were interchangeable from one series to the next. The market for tuning ...

Doesn't seem so... Which stinks because I always thought that was a great idea ahead of its time. I'm sure it would be a hit if Daiwa or Shimano started doing something similar.

Re: Kistler Helium?
You could get creative by finding an EVA grip with an inside diameter that matches the spot on the blank. Take a razor blade and cut it in half lengthwise and slide it over the blank and glue it with a clamp of some sort so the cut gets glued back together. The more difficult option is stripping the...

Re: Fireline getting discontinued?
Anyone know the deal with this new Fireline? Don't see why they would faze out Ultra 8 and not note any improvements with this new one over it..

Re: Zillion HLC... the neglected child
Have the same problem... Spool is so wild with anything under half ounce that its hard to fish the techniques I prefer. Would be great for slinging heavy football jigs or something I'm sure but thats just not something I do.
