Re: Houston... I have a problem!
The rod and reel combo having the issues is a 7' 11" XH Okuma swimbait rod paired with a Calcutta 400TE reel. The combo not having the issues is a custom wrapped Rainshadow 967 with a Calcutta 400 reel. Both paired with 25lb test. Did the Q-tip test and found nothing. Never used braid on any of thes...

Houston... I have a problem!
I am pretty damn lost at this point. The problem is my 25lb line keeps breaking and its costing me fish and expensive lures. So far I've lost a Lunker Punker and a R2S Rover that I bought as a temporary replacement for the Punker. The series of events that has me confused goes something like this. I...

Re: Black Dog Bait's Lunker Punker
Im not sure what makes it any different than the R2S rover or Super Magnum Zara Spook as I haven't used either of those. The one difference that is easy to make out is the profile is more trout like and the spook & rover are more of a minnow shape. The intangible to me was just the different actions...

Black Dog Bait's Lunker Punker
First off nice review. However I suggest you measure your larger Lunker Punkers as they are only 8 inches not 9. Secondly I liked this bait. Yes as in past tense. Unfortunately a striper last week decided it liked the Lunker Punker more than me and kept it as a souvenir. In the month and a half I ha...

Re: What's Cooking?
I'm not Dave but the swimbait is a 316 lure company 1-up.

The size six works good with most swimbaits. Baits with a bigger hook hanger like the MS Slammer might need a 7 or 8 however I haven't switched those split rings out yet.

Re: The Big Bait, Big Stink Giveaway.
I really don't like blocking the background. However the shot was pretty telling of where I was fishing. The lake seems to be off the radar a little bit and if it allows me a few more fish like these in the next month or two then I am going to try and keep it off the radar a little longer. The word ...

Re: The Big Bait, Big Stink Giveaway.
Actually went out to do some largemouth bass fishing but they weren't cooperating. Fish was caught on a custom wrapped Rainshadow 967, Calcutta 400, 25 lb Triple Fish camoescent, and a medium sized black MS Slammer. No clue on the weight as the scale was 40 ft. away. I do know that it is however my ...
