Re: Under Spin 101
small jaw is pretty much spot on with everything he said. Under spins really shine in cold water conditions, I always throw on a medium action spinning rod 6-10. I use braid with a flouro leader and a little heavier line although we have much bigger bass here. Always 1/4 ounce in shallow water and b...

Re: PVC coated mesh or rubber net
Of all the nets I have used the rubber ones are the easiest to get hooks out of. I tried a JDM one time that I wish I could remember the name of the holes were wider and the net was deeper in such a way it negated some of the negative aspects mentioned in this thread.

Re: Ned Rig for Panfish
Has you tried it with the regular size, while fishing for Bass I usually catch lots of Panfish in between Bass, you'd be amazed at how small some of em are.

Mustang Elite Vest- you can cast comfortably while wearing. RCI optics- I can see better than almost anyone I get in the boat with including the big name manufacturers. Plus they have one of the highest protection ratings in the industry. Storms Rain Gear, and Cold gear. Amazing how fast it sheds wa...

Re: Braid to fluorocarbon
The FG knot is a great knot however in the field it will give you headaches especially in a tournament, so plus however many to all the people saying not to. If you rush it, it will fail and the more frustrated you are when you go to tie it the harder it is. I;ll have to look into that tool though.

Re: Bigger Bass and Personal Best...???
I'm by no means an expert but most of my larger fish have come from slowing down my presentation and working an area for a period of time changing angles, depth type of retrieve etc.

Re: Looking to Shimano one more time
While I have never owned Daiwa's I have never had an issue with the removable side plate on any of my Shimanos. What's the concern with them? Is it ergonomics, the plate coming loose while casting or having to pull the plate to adjust the brakes? Its my perfrerence that the side plate doesnt fully ...

This is really sad, I believe there is a petition going around and a meeting that you can attend to voice your opinion.

Re: Custom Glass Spinning?
I would think someone that wanted a true glass rod for crankbaits, but didn't like using baitcasters would fit the bill. At that point it becomes a preference thing and there is a difference. I've built on a number of composites for different techniques saltwater and freshwater. I still think for gu...

Re: Ned rig rod
I've been using my phenix dropshot xf custom rod for this. I have had alot of success on this but I think i'm going to power down a little bit and maybe get a rod with a softer tip. I have lost a couple fish due to bent hooks and or snapped line even with the drag set low.

Late to the party on them but my brother uses them and catches fish on them all the time. Dunno, if that helps.

Re: Anyone find "The One"?
My problem with the one is that as long as Rod technology gets better even if you think you have the one now, in 5-7 years it won't be good enough. Even if the old rod did everything great.

Re: Thoughts on left and right hand reel seats?
I've never heard of it, do you mean the reel seat actually has grooves cut into it a specific way? When I spiral wrap I either go left or right based on it being left or right handed. That's as far as I've heard.
