Have a look, the guy explains the whole thing. There's supposed to be 10mm between the two pieces of rod.

T3 threads are always getting a lot of attention, Daiwa should revive/refresh the platform but make them in aluminum this time around.

Re: Help me pick out a Diawa Pixy
If you want an allround Pixy, i'd go with the PX68. It has a nice stock handle, high gear ratio, smoother gear *brass* and comes with carbontex drag. The spool is nothing special, tho. You can cast down to 1/8th but its not exactly smooth. So if you want to handle 1/8th and below, grab the DIY spool...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Hi newbie here looking to see if I can upgrade my own T3 MX 1016. Please be a little understanding if the questions seem basic. I have been trying to learn as much as I can. 1. So I will need to buy a Ray's Studio spool compatible with T3 on aliexpress like this one. https://www.aliexpress.com/stor...

Re: Are older MB rods worth it nowdays?
sensitivity wise, which rod would the xti/xfti diablo's be comparable to? i have been using mine for the past two weeks and love everything about the rod (would've preferred if the rod was under 5oz, tho). I find it pretty sensitive but i've never owned a X7, an NRX, the Ultima etc. Say compared to ...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
The star drag looks pretty good, wish they had them for the alphas/pixy platform. I was able to install the DIY carbon fiber drag star on my Alphas SV no problems and used the clicker from the original drag star. I wasn't able to install one on the Zonda due to the shortened handle shaft the Zondas...

Re: Choice between Ryoga 1016HL / Z2020SHL / HRF PE
I use my 1016 (not the High gear one) for swimbaits and musky. The reel is as smooth as i've ever tried (on par with OG zillions) and the 1016 spool bombs to the other side of the lake. With a 90mm carbon handle and ceramic BB's its an outstanding reel but you may need to get used to it because of t...
