Re: Daiwa Steez 103SHA right side plate broken
A few small misc parts and he also had the handle assembly and spool assembly separate. Just wasn't worth it. Ive seen them on ebay in good contion and complete for cheaper than what it would have cost me to rebuild that one. I was hoping I could score it on the cheap though. Just didnt happen.

Re: Daiwa Steez 103SHA right side plate broken
Even if the sideplate is $75 with all the other stuff the reel needs I think im still in the ballpark of close to $300 on a used Steez that I would have to re assemble anyways. Thanks for the info guys I'll probably pass on this one.

Re: Daiwa Steez 103SHA right side plate broken
That's the price that showed up at Southwestern Parts and Service website which is the largest parts dealer in my area. I guess I could call Daiwa and ask. But considering I paid $45 for my last t-wing guide on my Tatula from them I figured that price was right on a Steez. Where did you get the pric...

Re: Daiwa Steez 103SHA right side plate broken
I can ask but I doubt it. Then I also wondered if the cap would still thread on with only half the threads available on the side plate. Its a deal breaker for sure because I could just buy a used one in better shape for cheaper. And Ive always wanted a Steez

Daiwa Steez 103SHA right side plate broken
Where the aluminum piece is that that pinion shaft goes in and the cast control knob screws on. Half of it is broke off. Is there anyway to fix this without buying a whole new $144.10 side plate? Or does anyone happen to have a used side plate for one of these laying around? Found what I think is a ...

Re: Quantum Exo Baitcast for Salt Water?
I wouldn't even use it for light freshwater use. Those reels are garbage IMO. They are lightweight because they use a slew of very cheap plastic parts. Ive had 2 different customers (i clean/service reels) bring me these reels one 100 series size and 1 300. The 100 had a broken spool, the red plasti...

Re: Who's rods and reels do you like
Getting parts for Bass Pro reels is rather easy. They have a number you can call and the parts are usually cheap and ship cheaply and quickly. Ive used their service to fix several of my customers reel and have enjoyed the experience every time. And yes the reels are pretty much identical to Abu's. ...

Re: Buzzbait Setup
I throw buzzbaits quite a bit and I throw mine on a 7' Powell Max rod (MH with a moderate/fast tip) and a 6.3:1 Daiwa Tatula Type R. with usually 15lb mono on it. Never have problems missing fish or with hooksets with this setup. I guess Im a little different as I like to slow roll my buzzbaits a bi...

Re: General buzzbait question
I too have found it to be mostly a waste of time. I get mine to where there are running somewhat straight and just leave it at that. I don't ever seem to have a problem catching fish on buzzbait's so i must be doing something right. I wouldn't worry about it too much personally.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Anyone have a link for one of the DIY spools that will fit a T3 Ballistic? Looking to try out this whole BFS deal. Currently bidding on a rod on ebay too. I hate spinning reels and would like to have something that can do ned rig and other lightweight lures without having to deal with the spinning r...

Ive seen several of these on sell on ebay that were broke like this. Im guessing its a flaw in the design or poor quality?

Re: new Zillion and tatula TWS comparison..groove no more
I can confirm that the new part # j17-6601 will fit the older Tatulas with the wider t-wing just fine. Have already done it on 2 of my Tatulas and am about to do it on a Type R. I also believe if you try and order the Tatula T-wing# that Dawia will actually send you the updated #. Back when I bought...

Re: Tatula line grooving (yes I know another thread)
Kind of reviving an old thread here but just wanted to update. I believe Daiwa has secretly addressed this issue because in the Zillion TWS reel the T-wing is a bit different. It is narrower if that makes sense. I just got a type R off ebay ($58!) the guy that it something was wrong with it. But i b...
